The kid from DePaul is pretty much one of those guys to bring in culture. He knows what DeVries wants (coached him before)and can help with daily stuff. Works hard and plays above his talent level.

If there is one thing we should be sure of at this point is that the staff definitely has other options already. Probably a few and I doubt we have even heard of a few of them. All the eggs are not in the Wilkerson basket.

DeVries seems like a fit kind of guy. He runs a similar system offensively as most so it’s no coincidence IU and UK have been targeting some of the same guys. They have the sunbelt player of the year on campus today. Conerway. Lampkin and a kid from Idaho.

Wilkerson is an Arkansas native and I am unaware of any loyalty or heritage connection to IU. The money offered by them and us should be in the same ballpark. So, let's consider the age-old goal of competitive athletes: to win, possibly even to be a champion. The Hoosiers have little to no chance to even make the NCAA Tournament. UK, on the other hand, will be one of the favorites to win it all. For me, I would choose the opportunity to actually BE a champion rather than to watch the championship contenders on TV.
That’s not absolute. Did anyone think Michigan, UK or Louisville had a chance last year? Most thought those schools would have trouble.

He feels like the missing piece to being a legit title contender, top 3 team. Pope needs to overpay if he has to. Whatever it takes to land him. Last thing I want is yet another year of being one guy short of being a real contender. It’s happened too much over the last 15+ years including this year.

I don’t think Indiana will rise this year quite as well as UK and Louisville did in one season. I do feel like they finally made a good choice though but may take a few years to compete with the top of the big ten.
