Does Wilkerson put us in the driver's seat for a final four?

Seems like he would be the missing piece.
That would have you in the 99th percentile on both offense and defense from what I saw. I think that’s possibly preseason number one and a juggernaut. Just my opinion

Houston will get preseason #1 and rightfully so because of returnees but we’d be as talented and complete a team as anyone in CBB

This.

Goodwin’s fellow teammates were:

Ryan Harrow ( who left the the team)
Jarrod Polson
Julius Mayes
Jon Hood
Kyle Wiltjer
Poythress

None of those guys could create for theirselves and it left Goodwin as the only person who could beat his man 1v1 resulting in a lot of forced shots
Looking at that list you'd question if Cal could recruit. Good grief

39. G Lamar Wilkerson

Transferring from: Sam Houston State

The scout: Lamar Wilkerson
is a tried and true sniper with positional size (6-foot-5) who has polished up his game nicely. Wilkerson has an extra year of eligibility thanks to his JUCO days, and numerous big-time high majors are involved. Wilkerson shot over 43% from 3-point range on 226 attempts. He can be used as an off-movement option. He can handle it in pick-and-rolls and create for others in a pinch. He's improved a ton in attacking long closeouts. There are some defensive questions, but Wilkerson's shot-making is so impressive.

Why? We need a shooter. Wilkerson looks to be a better shooter than Pierre.
Exactly. Pierre is a ball dominant guard, has the ball in his hands a lot. Wilkerson is more of a 2, Pierre is a scoring PG who has to have the ball in his hands to score, we do not need a ball dominant guard. We need a guy who can fit in the offense that can shoot. Pierre's usage rate and ball dominance would have a lot of ISO with him dribbling, creating for himself. Wilkerson the opposite, he is more catch and shoot.

Definitely want a good catch and shoot guy as opposed to a ball dominant guy on the wing with Oweh.

You don't think Oweh was the only one getting fouled going to the basket, do you?

Everyone got fouled, if you got an open run at the basket, consider yourself very lucky.

Heck, Oweh missed a breakaway layup in the Illinois game on top of several other misses at the rim. He didn't get fouled on that run out.

He hits the lane so hard and fast that the ball has a ton of velocity on it and on top of that, he tries to avoid contact. At his size, he should be trying to finish through contact every time.
On non 3s against Illinois, Oweh was 6/11. I do not think "several" of the 5 misses was at the rim. I would say a couple, definitely NOT several.

I mean, he did mis several at the rim. It was at least 3, including the breakaway.

This sucks, because OO is easily my most liked player in quite some time and I can't wait to see him play again next year, but I'm not going to ignore the fact thst he missed a ton of layups this season.

He's
I told multiple people this year that Oweh was a slightly less athletic Archie Goodwin.
A better ball handler than some give him credit for.
He's very strong at getting to the rim as well. He just can't finish or shoot very well
I started noticing when Oweh drove to the rim angry or with a purpose, you couldn't stop him. When he drove indecisive and weak he missed everything

"a ton" is definitely an exaggeration!

Houston can’t win a title with Hakeem and Clyde, they’re not a threat
