I think im done with that show. Good concept, really bad writing. They add Demi Moore, Sam Elliot, and Andy Garcia, and they dont know how to use any of them.
To me it's not about the plot. I watch for Billy Bob and his one liner and the leg.
My mom was a landman for an oil company back in the 70s and 80s (one of the first women in the industry to do this). It is hilarious to watch this show since real landman work is mostly boring legal research about mineral and drilling rights.

Middle aged dudes gooning to the women in this shitass show is both unsurprising and sad.
The storyline sucks. The characters suuuuuck. And the writing sucks.
Just low quality manufactured drama that is poorly acted.
1883 and 1923 were worth watching. Mayor of Kingstown was good for the first couple seasons. Lioness didnt suck.
But Landman?...oof, it is awful. Its like he decided a show should be created that highlights the absurdity and insanity of that grown daughter from Yellowstone.
Goon away though.

the Sopranos was full of absurdity.
Breaking bad was full of absurdity.
The damn Dukes of Hazzard was full of absurdity.
And the next Sheridan show that he makes will be the same.
Its just entertainment. And at least it isn't some new GD cheap to make "reality" show.

I am not suggesting a show needs to be a documentary to be worth watching. I am suggesting that Landman specifically is a 17ing worthless show because of its characters, storylines, writing, and acting.
As someone who briefly worked in the oil fields when I was young, I can tell you that some of the characters are hyper-realistic.
That's Taylor Sheridan. Comes up with pretty good concept starts it then moves on to the next project before the other one figures out where it's going.
Your list is full of shows that feature guns and/or hot women. There are some people in the world that aren't interested in either.

The main pic I have from those days is a large LandSat infrared picture of central Mississippi that she brought home one day so we could see a "satellite photo." It had apparently been used in some presentation at work. It may still be in that house somewhere.

Is there a pro-oil message to the show? The first season depicted gangs trying to control land through violence and people dying because of unsafe working conditions and improper procedures.
The first season was pro explicit sexualization of a 17 year old character a whole lot more than it was pro oil.
The show sucks, but gooning middle aged men are gonna obviously defend it.
If the characters weren't so poorly created, and the campy acting and writing weren't so terrible, it could be an interesting show.
The only one I watch out of all his shows is Tulsa King. It’s very over the top ridiculous but it’s still good with alot of good humor too.

- the scripts and acting are bad and make the show not worth watching.
- men defending their watching a 17 year old high school character be heavily sexualized because they enjoy how hot she is is pathetic.
- the female main characters are so over the top and annoying that it ruins the show.
Its unfortunate you find 'gooning' to be a weird *** term, since it perfectly describes how many of the sexually repressed middle aged guys on here handle their frustration.

Like I said earlier in the thread I don’t watch the show so I have no idea about it.
I've watched a lot of bad movies and shows just for the T&A, maybe that is because I loved The Goonies back in the day. By coincidence, I have also never rollerbladed
