Super!!

I hope this season is a wake up call for Mullen, Stricklin and Co. They had better get on board with this game or next recruiting season will go even worse.

If the 2011 recruiting fiasco wasn't a wake up call why would this be?

It is what it is

They get a wake up call every year.

Newton, Johnson, and we'll see what happens with Jones.

You've got to play the game that everybody else is playing if you want to sell tickets and be competitive. You also have to figure out how to do it right without screwing up like we did with Mirando.

The father is ole miss. The mamma is state.

When did any of this even become a legitimate concern. I don't remember anything coming out about his dad and ole miss until about a week ago.

I think concern is legitimate the same way they will have to be concerned if conner visits

DS, my friend, Souperdog from Houston sez...

The father is ole miss. The mamma is state.

Chris' mom has softened that position alot. She wanted him to look at more schools and though we were preeuring them. Dad is adamant on visiting!

Treadwell has been one of our ace recruiters this year. The guy, and his mom drive the 9 hours or so on their own tab just to come down and recruit this weekend. He was our lead recruiter at the Under Armor game too.

I still have my doubts about us really getting Jones, but he's been working on Jones since the All-Star game.

Treadwell is a good Twitter follow though if you want to keep up with our recruiting. He's been saying for weeks we were going to flip a big prospect that was committed elsewhere. Still not sure if he was referring to Jones or someone else. Time will tell.

and the irony is Treadway is gonna be on "The Plan" he may make it and he may

not. Borderline for sure.

Sour grapes.

Kind of like the Scott Austin posts about dropping him for grades. Never mind that just before dropping Austin you took a commitment from a guy at the same position that everyone in the nation backed off due to grades in Donald Gray. A kid in a school district that is being heavily scrutinized for grade changing, mind you.

You telling me he won't be on your version of the plan like Nick James and others?

Not sour grapes, the irony is he is your top recruiter and there is a fair

chance he won't be there next year. You missed my point. Yes, he would be on our plan
as well.

Did you happen to see our class last year? We are playing the game now. We aren't playing the game the way Ole Miss is. I think part of that is hesitancy to do things out of line from what the other SEC schools do. We may have pushed the envelope with Jackie some, we have been very conservative with Mullen, to say the least.
Part of it may just be culture, where we don't have as many crazy alumni with a total lack of perspective. As long as we keep Chris Jones, we'll have a very good class. If UM doesn't catch any blowback from their tactics, you will see the other schools (outside of the ones that don't have to) ratchet up their efforts too, including MSU.
