I could of told you years ago that a ***** was more reliable than Jurich and pitino. Call me when one of those 2 isn't lying or skirting rules on something.
Agree , but Otis is going to pay dearly for uncheat's fraud because they can't have two schools on probation from the ACC at the same time especially when one of those school's is Puke or uncheat...those two are untouchable with the NCAA and acc...you wanted this Otis fans and now you have it because you are no longer in a mid major league where you set the tone, but are now in a league where you are second tier and expendable

So, when is the NCAA going to get serious about investigating the football team, or did they really screw up the U investigation so badly it is never going to happen?

So now they are talking about lack of institutional control under jurich, is there anyone that really believe that hurtt wasn't the biggest cheater around when jurich and strong hired him?

More to the point, is there anyone that really believes that neither jurich or strong knew anything about what was going on at the U before hiring him, especially since their actions after he was exposed prove that they both did know what was going on.

What do football coaches make nowadays, especially NROTY ones, does anyone really believe that hurtt needed that $5,000 loan to pay his power bill, isn't it more likely that it was for 50 $100 handshakes for recruits-----although that was small change when the jailbird had $930,000,000 of other people's money to spend before he went to jail. Does anyone really believe it would have turned into a "loan" that was repaid if the heat hadn't been turned up?

I wonder if UL basketball didn't get their idea for their hookers from the staffing of the rented hotel with professional prostitutes to entertain them arranged by the NROTY at the U. There is some correlation there.

To answer the question, yes, quite a few of the UL fans believe all the BS------or at least they pretend they do, but push come to shove several will just admit that they don't care how they win, just win, baby.

The NCAA doesn't want to put anyone on probation because there is no profit when a team is on probation. Can't play in a bowl, can't be on TV you think the NCAA doesn't want the country to watch Bama/LSU every year nationwide? I am not saying UK is cheating, but an example is the SEC basketball tournament, do they want to take a chance of it being half empty if UK was on probation and couldn't participate? NCAA is no longer a governing organization but a for profit organization. They are making mountains of money, but don't have the people to do a through investigation? Hire more people with all that money.but that would cut into profit.

Syracuse is on probation for basketball for basically covering up academics and failed drug test for a 10 year period with Boehiem and Daryl Gross their now former AD knowing about it including during a time period when they won the NCAA Basketball Title...their punishment was a self imposed ban, slight reduction in scholarships and a Boeheim 9 game suspension ...That it....

So basically you have 4 ACC schools now looking at or on probation...

Yes and no. The core of your statement is correct, that the NCAA is all about its margin and would never want to put a big name program on probation. However, unlike a typical for-profit business, the NCAA must maintain the illusion of a higher purpose - the best interest of its student athletes. Long term solvency means sustaining this illusion, which would require sanctions against even the most profitable programs when necessary.

SoCal was hit pretty hard a few years back, PSU was hit pretty hard but the Sandusky scandal, but had the penalties reduced. But Miami threatened a suit when they were having a booster on his boat loaded with hookers and money and got pratically no sanctions if any. NC has been investigated for academic scandal for what seems like years and so far nothing. Cam's dad basically admitted he was auctioning Cam off but Cam wasn't aware of it, wth it was his dad. When it normally takes months for the NCAA to take action, they cleared Cam to play is about 2 hours after suspending him. OM is buying 4-5 players a year, a dad told the NCAA they were bought, offering jobs at the school to parents. SEC west is dirty and if the NCAA is serious would only be 1 or 2 teams eligible for TV and bowls. The illusion of any kind of concern for the athletes academic progress isn't even a factor anymore,

The examples you cite support your theorem and reflect the NCAA's business model today. My point, though, is that this is not a sustainable practice long term. University Presidents (NCAA) have sacrificed the well-being of the athlete, and the public good of the university, for profit. If the NCAA allows policies and penalties to be differentially and selectively enforced to protect the cash cows (see UNC), the institution will collapse upon itself. Taxpayers, regulators, and other stake holders will demand change, The greed of the NCAA will be their demise because, for most of us, the illusion of the student athlete still exists.

If college presidents are serious about cleaning up the cheating, I am not so sure all of them are because everyone is reaping the rewards of the golden goose, the P5 presidents should tell the head of the NCAA clean it up or all 5 P5 conferences are leaving and forming our own organization. That might get their attention and force them to take some action. I just can't see taxpayers having any effect on what the NCAA does, they have almost no input into how the country is run. The pharmaceutical, energy and insurance industry run this country.

At the University of Alabama, Nick Saban is the most powerful man on campus, if the president try to reel Saban in for anything he would be unemployed by sundown. But since Saban's arrival at Bama, GPAs and test scores for ALL incomig freshmen have increased, it has become harder to get into Bama because of all the attention it gets from the football team nationwide. Kids that have planned their entire life to go to Bama can't get in and have to settle on Auburn.

Are the teenage suicide rates up in Alabama?

I don't know about all that Grumphy. The Committee could have assured themselves a heck of a lot more money if Kentucky was playing in the Yum Center rather than Des Moines or wherever it is.

Banks have failed all over the country while energy and pharmaceutical companies are recording record profits. The tall buildings in Atlanta are insurance buildings, laws require us to have it for our vehicles, our bodies and our homes unless you buy without a mortgage, pretty sweet deal to have laws forcing people to buy your product or fact fines.

So, Transfer U has no grade problems, in fact all these transfers that couldn't qualify out of high school, were kicked out of other colleges for various offenses, grades, drugs, crimes, you name it, they done did it, transfer to UL and now you have a perfect APR.

I think I read where some Vandy students, noted for their elite academics, were worrying about all the jocks degrading their elite diploma, wonder how many hard working regular students trying to get a degree to get a job at a city college known ONLY for it athletics lately (most of that bad) feel about the situation at Transfer U and all the money they are helping jurich throw at scumbags for no reason.

Something smells fishy in Louisville, and I'm not sure there are any fish is the Ohio River any more (great beaches to attract the Florida players though), I do know if there are any you aren't supposed to eat them.

I know jurich is an expert at what he does and has almost refined it to an art form but it doesn't make it any more palatable to a lot of people. From your post: "Syracuse is on probation for basketball for basically covering up academics and failed drug test for a 10 year period with Boehiem and Daryl Gross their now former AD knowing about it including during a time period when they won the NCAA Basketball Title...their punishment was a self imposed ban----" Does that sound a little bit familiar? But maybe your athletics dorm attracts a little higher class of athlete, too bad they are shutting it down. but I think a huge can of worms has been opened up.

Well I'm not going to argue this very long but the big banks control the money. Heck Grumpy the Federal Reserve majority stockholder is the Rothchilds. None of the sectors you listed can establish foreign currency exchange rates. I'd say that is significant control and the big banks have that power. Besides the sectors you named are children compared to the banking industry which even Christ ranted on a few thousand years ago. That means they have been acquiring wealth for thousands of years also.

My point is and pretty much kind of what Grumpy is saying the NCAA is no longer in the "Punishment" business....way too much $$$ on the line. Interesting article in Forbes magazine on Louisville and the Tourney Ban and it impact on CBS & Turner.

With Syracuse the NCAA found out that they covered up drug test...athletes not academically eligible and the Coach/AD Knew...so basically approved academic fraud and extremely lacked drug enforcement over a 10 year period...sure they got docked 108 games...9 Game Coaching ban and self imposed tourney ban...still didn't take any tournament wins away and didn't even think about vacating their 2003 Title.

If you are in a P5 league and do minimum self discipline in this environment they will not hammer you.

Look at Oregon-(literally buying recruits) Oklahoma State-(similar allegations in regards to Louisville Basketball) & Ohio State as prime example in Football.

As for Louisville Football and the current situation at Louisville...word is it about to wrap up...as of right now it appears to be just Men Basketball...should know for sure by Summer...BTW...Shouldn't this be on the Basketball Board
