You know there are issues with the program when boos at the stadium and reactions to it by the QB draw more attention than the epic collapse yesterday to a horrible Maryland team. That's where we are -- arguing about everything except the actual product in the field. This is what happens when a program is allowed to be run into the ground

Kids 19-20 years old, and is dealing with a ton more than 99.9% of people his age have to deal with - I don't know many kids his age who are subject to being booed and scrutinized by tens of thousands of people. On the flip side I look directly at Flood/Coaching Staff - one of the main things I would be drilling into these guys heads day after day is the spot they are in and the ills of social media. And this especially goes for my QB who I know is my ultimate leader and dealing with a ton. Unacceptable that this happened - and you need look no further than the top. Fans remain undefeated in player vs. fans battle - and as always a lopsided victory.

Teel is spot on...

When the crap started yesterday as CL went back in the game me and my friends looked at each other
and cringed...knew it would lead to all this..but we kinda knew why it started...

I asked the guy next to me what the hell he was booing and he said Flood is too
stupid to ever give the other guy a chance...why not now with Laviano dinged..and
he jumped right back on the boo wagon...suspect that speaks for most..and most
got that Caroo was far and away the reason for most of the numbers everyone keeps
bringing up

was all stupid but has been made a hell of a lot bigger than needed...I think 99%
of the fans know the real issue here...attacking each other ain't gonna help

I don't really care CL tweets or whatever..unless he breaks a law or does something
despicable this is just noise to me..

I was done with all of it walking out after the 4th down joke...bigger fish than this to fry

I believe Flood brought it up and said in the future he hopes Laviano matures on situations like that with him raising his arms for louder boos. If he thinks about fans like this I hope he likes playing in front of an empty stadium.

In all fairness, the only people left in the stadium at the time of the booing were family members & girlfriends.

I was not at the stadium and would not have booed but you are WRONG. The fanbase is not against him. The fanbase is against Flood for the way he has treated Rettig all season long. When a young QB like Laviano is struggling mightily in game after game, a good coach would replace him with the 2nd string to see if the team might get a spark. Nobody that I've seen has ever said simply give Rettig the starting job because Laviano is struggling. People have said, 'let's see what Rettig can do'

In yesterday's game, Laviano got CRUSHED. He's out for one play, Rettig comes in. Immediately after the play, the coach takes Rettig out for his golden boy. For all the people who think Laviano was treated poorly (and he was), how was Rettig treated there? We've seen Flood take a time out in order to PREVENT Rettig from seeing the field when Laviano had to miss a play because his helmet came off. Now in the FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON... Laviano possibly gets hurt and Rettig isn't even allowed to finish one friggin' series of handing off the ball.

Sorry, but this is ENTIRELY on Flood. He caused this problem. It's unfortunate that Laviano has to deal with it, but this is what FAVORITISM does. If Laviano was the #1 wide receiver that failed to catch a pass in 3 straight games, it's doubtful he would continue to be the #1 wide receiver. If he was the #1 running back that fumbled in 2 or 3 straight games, would he remain the #1 running back? Laviano went nearly half the season without throwing a single touchdown pass. In most of the games, he led the team to field goals, not even rushing touchdowns.

Flood had EVERY REASON to see if another young QB might have done better, he chose not to. And Laviano suffered the booing because of Flood's decision.

This is soo spot on. Flood actions on the qb position have been absolutely baffling. His actions on Rettig getting meaningful snaps are mind bending. Laviano was absolutely laid out yesterday and the kid was allowed to come back in a play later to hand off the ball like Laviano was the only player on this team that could hand off the ball. Flood is the cause for this total air of frustration amongst the fanbase. No one was booing Laviano. We are pissed at this coaching staff and there is no way we as alums and fans can express to this meat head of a coach that he is weakening our program.

Sounds like Laviano has thin skin and the fact he felt compelled enough to direct us alum and fans on which schools to root for reveals his age and immaturity.

It's real simple: Get Rid of Flood NOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!

Well said. Anybody who blames Laviano for this mess of a season needs to have his head examined. If he wasn't good enough to play, Flood should have pulled him. Everybody is so sympathetic to Rettig...imagine being in Laviano's shoes this year?

Plain & simple - Flood, with his relentless unenlightened obstinence has done a gross disservice to Rettig and Laviano and the entire program.

The timing of the booing was unfortunate. Flood certainly deserved it for his usual boneheadedness by pulling Rettig like he would spread a contagious disease in the huddle but Laviano had just completed the most impressive play of his career. Standing tall in the pocket about to take a monstrous hit and throwing a rope over the middle for a first down.

Chris made a big mistake here. He went from being Flood's pawn in this mess to being his partner in crime.

Eh not a fan of it especially from a qb, but I won't make a big deal about it. It's no worse, probably less so, than what Elliot did at OSU this past week questioning coaches. It's a mistake and if he has any sort of guidance something he'll learn from. Fighting/inciting the fans whether they're right or wrong is a pointless proposition.

Agree that it was a mistake, and also a agree that it's not that big of a deal in my eyes. The OSU comparison is a good one. Look at what happened there after ONE loss with Elliot and Jones. Now think of what Chris has been through the whole season (as most posters are pointing out, Flood's handling of the situation didn't help). It's natural for the kid to want to say something. He should have refrained, but it's not that big of a deal in my eyes.

. It's real. I'm on Instagram & just looked it up. His account is public so anyone can see it. If there was any doubt KF has lost control of the team this confirms it.

Mrs Screw, it sounds from the quote that as though he were replying to some individual who had sent him a message that he did not like. Does this appear to be the case? If so, I can understand why he said what he did, even though I don't think he should have.

Find another team. Very, very nice. Just shows you the lack of discipline and leadership from a student athlete who doesn't realize he is getting a free education at a top rate University to play football. This is another example of a coach with no control.

unlikely. Instagram is not like Twitter where you post something directly to someone. It's really just a bunch of photos with hashtags...mostly food, selfies, flowers and sunrises. His post was clearly meant to be directed at the masses and not someone specific.

Apologize to idiots like you who booed him, you are truly crazy.

I am so proud of Laviano for sticking up for himself against classless people who boo a kid for throwing for 344yds and 4 tds in one game.

Wow. Some of our fans really cannot understand our real issues.

I think the kid said something that Nova, Teel, Hart, Savage, McMahon, Lucas, Fortay and Erney didn't want to tell fans in the past. The kid was pissed. Or the young adult was pissed. Either way, if fans think they have the right to boo him after he just laid out on the field, then yeah, he has the right to tell everyone to go F themselves. I guess some fans think it's just a one way street. Laviano decided it isn't.

By lashing out on social media, Laviano effectively made it a two-way street and lowered himself to the level of the booing fans whom so many are decrying. Nobody could doubt his maturity and commitment to the team, until yesterday when he antagonized the booing with hand gestures while prematurely returning to th field. The Instagram post was just pouring fuel on a raging fire, as was the case with Floods decision to pull Rettig after one snap for the starting quarterback to hand off the ball again.

At least one player in EVERY college program does this after a bad loss, change of coach, rot bad season. It gets handled internally and eventually deleted. sure, they need to learn to deal with adversity and they will. Some of you misguided souls seem to think this falls on the coaches--um, no. Believe it or not, these players have administrators who hold lectures about the do's and dont's of social media. They're reprimanded internally.

I doubted his maturity when he got caught with a fake ID days before the first start of his college career.

Biggest non Laviano fan there is but you just don't be in that situation. The fanbase looks a million x worse than he does for that tweet.

But as Nuts said, NJ folks love the drama, so here it is.

Find another team! OK...Stanford!!! A real football team with real student athletes and a real coach. Done.

I've been thinking about what other teams I can route for and go see on a regular basis. I decided to route for all of the Academies in this order...Navy, Army and Air Force. After last nights game I decided to add Stanford to the list.

Like any of those schools you mention would welcome fans who boo when a kid goes back in to a game he was knocked out of by a big hit.

He probably wasn't thinking straight, that hit probably gave him a concussion.

Flood gave him "the how many fingers" test and threw him back in.

BTW, His Instagram show many pictures holding cocktails......must have a great fake ID!

Any of you pro Laviano people please provide the list of any athlete in history, from the first Greek marathoner up through Lavs, who has ever taken on the fanbase and won.

For that reason alone it's dumb. He is making it about him.

I'll wait...
