Laviano with open crossing route 15 yards down the middle - bounced!
Mr. Noodle Arm strikes again.
I was wondering if Bill Walsh was on the sideline. Is this a west coast offense?
Can some of you people who say he has a spaghetti arm tell me how he threw a 50yd pass on the run (not from a full wind up which will give you an extra 10-15 yds) at the end of the half if he can't throw 15 yds? I am not as smart as all of you above posters so please explain this to me.

Bounce pass works fine in basketball. Not so good in football.maybe he thought there was a 1 bounce rule?
Let's be honest with what he brings.
Pros:
1) Somewhat mobile
2) Accurate on short passes
3) Touch passes are adequate
Cons:
1) Obvious lack of arm strength shrinks the playbook
2) Can't stretch the field
3) Very questionable decision making at inopportune times
Laviano screams back up QB when you have a guy like Rettig holding the clipboard. His skill set prohibits you from making winning plays against good teams. He is the ultimate low risk, low reward choice, which unfortunately, is how our head coach views the game of football.
The issues with arm strength is really apparant.
Teams are going to hedge up the safeties
Could not reach end zone on Hail Mary
Either from about 50 yards
Big pass plays will be hard to come by...:and so will points
Who cares about pro potential. It's about who can win now and in the future. Laviano has a lack of arm strength. Almost all of his passes are looped. Laviano may be ab
Right, nothing better to argue your case than to flat out lie about the facts. He threw a 50yd pass on the run with lots of zip. Let's keep making SHi$ up so other morons can jump on.The issues with arm strength is really apparant.

Sorry, I agree with the original comment. That pass was a weak, lame duck. It never made it to the end zone and easily got picked off.Right, nothing better to argue your case than to flat out lie about the facts. He threw a 50yd pass on the run with lots of zip. People who have to lie to argue their points have no credibility on here or in life.
Watching other games and the velocity other qb's get on throws is like night and day from Laviano. He is a decent touch passer who is accurate but has no arm strength.

Exactly, watching sportscenter this morning I found myself envious of any team that has a quarterback that can throw the ball more than 30 yards.
You really think that ball had a lot of "ZIP" on it? That ball fluttered and never turned over. Hardly lots of zip. The fact that he threw that ball was more a testament to lack of decision making skills vs. arm strength though.Right, nothing better to argue your case than to flat out lie about the facts. Just because someone spews crap every time they breath does not make them right.Judging from Scarlet Shack's previous body of posts and game observations, he will forget a lot more about college football than you will ever know. Be careful who you call out..

Without question, teams will stack the box daring Laviano to beat them. We were so much better than Kansas that we could run on them stacking the box and didn't need to go over top of them.
We won't be able to do that against any other team on our schedule, save perhaps Army.
If we want to win, Laviano is going to have throw the ball further than 10 yards and screen passes to do it. Considering we haven't seen it yet, there is obvious reason to be highly concerned of his ability to do it.

That doesn't get it done at this level.
I believe they are referring to the passes that seem to lack zip, you know, nice tight spiral that gets to the receiver quickly, with some mustard on it, make the opposition think "oh, this kid can throw." I thought he did many good things, but, as the coaches have said (I believe) he can throw the ball downfield, well..............show us a few.Can some of you people who say he has a spaghetti arm tell me how he threw a 50yd pass on the run (not from a full wind up which will give you an extra 10-15 yds) at the end of the half if he can't throw 15 yds?
