Rosebowl says all signs point to these guys being Dawgs. Also, he says Sanders really likes Florida State now.

I guess this means the Rebs get all three.

He's the one that wasn't getting the area BCS offers. I would expect both he and Robinson at MSU if MSU wants both. Lawson did get some attention from Texas Tech, which I think was primarily before the coaching change. If he doesn't go to MSU, he'll probably be at Memphis. Funny thing is, I think Memphis is probably MSU's biggest competition for Robinson too. Robinson had some other options, but I think Memphis is the only dark horse that could maybe pull him away.

All I know is that he was looking hard at Texas Tech, because he wasn't getting any local attention from the SEC schools.

Which is why I said that if MSU wants him, you should be able to get him.

1. Who he was looking at.
2. Why he was looking at them.
3. Who wasn't looking at him.
4. Who should get him.

What else do you need to know about a recruit? His favorite pizza topping?

Review at BDJ says he's not a BCS conference guy. Ouch. And we're apparently picking Polk over Dillon Day.

Cross your finger and hope our staff knows what its doing. They must. They do a thorough evaluation of these guys while we sit back on the hill and read 4th hand accounts.

I knew he existed. I knew we gave him a cursory look at one point but never pursued him. I remembered hearing something about Texas Tech, and I looked up his profile just a minute ago to see that Memphis was one of his finalists.

I made the assumption that if you offered the guy that you'd be able to wrestle him away from Memphis if you made him a firm offer. He could turn into a decent player, but he definitely was overlooked in this area, and I'm assuming the only reason you're making a push for him now is because you missed out on some other OL targets, or you just decided late that you needed some bodies on the OL.

I think we have to trust that Mullen knows what he is doing. He has the experience of going after the best high school athletes in the country, so when it comes to the 2 star guys, or these guys that haven't been evaluated, I trust Mullen to recognize potential. He also has a much better staff than we did under the previous regime. Hevesy is one hell of a coach, and I fully trust him to build up the OL after the job he did this year with a line that beside Sherrod and Brignone aren't worth a damn. Get him Muniz, Clausell, Robinson, and maybe Day or Polk, and I fully trust him to get these guys SEC ready. I think the other thing we have to look at is the size of the OL we are bringing in or looking at.Muniz, Clausell, Robinson, and Polk are all 6' 6" or taller. The only lineman on the roster at 6' 6" are Sherrod and Phillip Freeman. We are looking at guys that fit the OL mold much better than the guys Croom brought in.

assuming he gets his grades. Apparently the kid has been busting his balls to get his grades in order so he can get that scholly. Also, he's just flat out better than the other kid.

If Day makes his grades, I think he should have a spot on the team.

Maybe his grades are still questionable. If so, I could see how that would put the coaches in a tough spot. The tough decisions have to be made at some point.

With that said, I still want Day on the team.

.....screw Day. Yes I think he is a good kid and his film looks awesome buthell,he's had 4 freaking yrs to get his grades in order. If you are serious about playing D1 football I would think at some point in your high school career a lightbulb would go off and say hey I might want to actually start paying attentionto my grades.

And the same goes with these guys who haven't taken the ACT yet. I mean are you serious???? What have you been doing for the past 3 1/2 years? What the hell are these high school counselors doing?

Then try this novel approach...keep your pie hole shut. You don't have to comment on every thread of "MSU" talk, and certainly not those you know nothing about. Congrats on 5000 posts...

Bruiser can't seem to let one thread pass down the board without throwing in his two cents, no matter how uninformed and worthless they may be.

Who gives you the right to speak badly about a kid. You don't know him....you don't know his grades....you don't know if he is close to qualifying or not. I'll tell you this much....he wouldn't have committed to a D1 school (LA Tech) if they didn't think he was going to have his grades.

He has a 19 on his ACT and that with his grades he will have no problem qualifying. From what I understand he is taking his ACT again to solidify that fact.

So before you start badmouthing a kid, please have your facts straight. MSUobviously wanted Lawson and Polk over Day and he was pushed to the backburner. If this is not the case, I believe he would have already been offered.

Is this your first year to follow recruiting?
