VHSL is not approving playing up, even if they do the Class 3 Region has to agree to accept them.
The VHSL is not approving to play up IN MOST CASES. LCA's case is different. They are different. The VHSL knows this. Guarantee you they let them play up.
It's John Marshall in basketball all over again, if they are allowed in 2A. I have my doubts that it will happen. Even if somebody in 3A opposes it. What are they going to say?.....it's unfair to play against them?....well, that just strengthens the case to move from 2A to 3A. I think they should be 4A or higher.
Of course they have and the VHSL will approve it and LCA will be Class 3. John Marshall could have done the same thing for basketball, but they had a **** coach. I give LCA more credit than JM for at least playing up.

You ever stop to consider that the basketball coach doesn't decide whether an entire schools athletic department plays in a different classification than what their enrollment dictates. I'm not connected to John Marshall athletics in any fashion but your take is ridiculous. Hate the coach? I can understand your reasons but the reality is the AD at John Marshall knew all his other sports would benefit from playing C2 vs C3, hence they didn't appeal to play up in all sports. VHSL doesn't allow schools to play up in one sport, it's all or none. Simple deep breath and sound thought process could have got you to realize that the JM hoops coach had absolutely no control over what class his team played.
I'm glad you provided context on that. What people fail to realize is that Classification is determined by "school enrollment". John Marshall is a legitimate 2A team. they barely got 350 kids enrolled in that school (9th-12). The same for us. Thomas Jefferson barely have 490 kids in the building. Why on God's green earth would be a 4A or 5A school because of one sport? Basketball or Football. Just because the school is successful in that sport? In reality Liberty Christian Academy has 298 kids I think. They should be 1A. But because they legitimately want to stay in 3A (for unknow reasons), the VHSL allows this. This man on here cussing and name calling coaches and bloggers because of high school recruiting allegations and winning success is sickening.
