I mean... Both are state boards... No one is making you read either.

And whether you want to admit it or not, kimmer's points are more valid than you are pretending to believe. Reeling in a top 5 recruiting class coming off a 7-6 season and a 2-10 season just prior doesn't happen just because recruits love OM.

And both Nafoom and the Spirit are OM boards. Is someone making Coach66 or anyone else here read? Maybe you aren't sharp enough to follow the fact that I was addressing Coach66's point.

"Don't Stop Believing", drt7891. MSU isn't cheating in recruiting and OM is the biggest cheater in the SEC. Newsflash...we both cheat at recruiting in the SEC along with everyone else. There are no degrees of cheating that make you worse. Cheating is cheating. If you are doing it, you might as well do it well. You are either doing it right or doing **** like giving away jackets and used Mustangs while trying to pretend you are a big fish.

I'm from Florida and have several friends that went to UF, so I've spent a lot of time in Gainsville. It's an alright town. You can certainly have a good time there. It's much bigger than Starkville or Oxford but there is nothing special about it. The best thing about Gainsville is its not too far from Daytona.

I get there a few times a year and the only thing I hate about Gainsville is the 40,000 scooters. Those kids are nuts the way some of them ride. Everything else is great. Weather and location are really good. Close to Tampa and orlando.

One thing I notice when I was there a few months ago was some of the bars and restaurants across the street from campus were close. <O:p</O:p

TSUNBearhunter, there are no perfect boards. This one comes about as close

as any I've seen and is very similar to Nafoom in its heyday. There homerism here but for the most part it is an eclectic place where a variety of subjects are discussed with lot's of humor which is why I'm here.

Both teams are having great years and I am sure there are some Ole Miss boards I would enjoy, someone recommended Redcup but I just haven't checked it out.

ED has some very good posters that are very informed on what is going on at MSU and they know a great deal about sports which I enjoy reading but I don't post much there. I think they get a little too preoccupied with Ole Miss but it is their board and they can do what they want and they certainly don't have to tolerate me.

I actually really like SPS now that most of the lunatic fringe has drifted on to ED. I can tell that you have some that post on both and bring some of the craziness over here, but mostly it's level-headed.

We have some crazies on NAFOOM as well. You have some guys that read the State boards and get high-blood pressure so they post condescending stuff on NAFOOM regarding State/Mullen since they know it's being read by the ED types in hopes to get under their skin. I don't think they really mean a lot of the stuff they say, you can kind of tell it's intentionally overboard but all it takes is one or two of those type posts and then people come out of the woodworks and it snowballs.

I don't think Mullen is going anywhere. With the new money flowing in to both schools, I feel like OM & State have the resources to keep each coach for as long as they would like. We're both familiar with mediocrity and in no way want to return so I don't see how either school could let a bigger program come in and poach the coach (zing) if it's a money situation. Plus, dollars go further in Starkville and Oxford than they do in almost any other college town.

I'm fascinated by where both schools are right now and am interested to see if we can both sustain this sort of success as well as how we handle the rest of the year with these new-found midseason expectations and targets on our backs.

*Sidenote: I'm eerily fascinated by ED. You can find more in-depth actual discussion about Ole Miss issues there than you can find on any Ole Miss board and I think that's why they have a lot of OM readers. Sure, most of it has a negative slant but it's still an interesting perspective to behold.

ConceivedatOpals (EtolonelColonel) either posts about dicks or Mississippi State. He is obsessed with both.

Engie, I didn't say it's "better" to be #3 than #1. I said at this point in the season I'd rather be #3. I do grasp that #1 is a better number than #3.

The ultimate goal is to finish the season #1, and it's my opinion that it's more difficult to maintain a #1 ranking for the rest of the season than it is to rise from #3 to #1 (and I believe statistics bear this out). This isn't exactly a novel concept. I'm sure you've heard commentators say things like it's better to be the hunter than the hunted, it's lonely at the top, the #1 team has a bullseye on its back, the pressure can get to #1 teams due to all the media attention, etc. So that was the point of my post. Again, it's just an opinion.

The comment about Freeze amiable guy, doesnt really know re:cheating. He was handpicked by Tuhoy and Archie. Archie good guy, but they know where the money is and who to call . He isnt oblivious to it. I still dont understand how black athletes go to a school that still plays Dixie, waves rebel flag, and supports Ole Massa for a mascot.

This, from a fan of a school currently on probation for a booster giving cars and money to a current player during his recruitment, which also involved a former WR coach. The lack of self-awareness is astounding.

I may be stating something obvious here, but once you insert the image into the body of the text, you can also just double left click it and a box will come up that allows you to easily resize it. At least, that's what I always do

As long as that girl in your avatar keeps twirling you can state the obvious all you want.

On a completely unrelated note, how can I make another dude's avatar much much bigger?
