as any I've seen and is very similar to Nafoom in its heyday. There homerism here but for the most part it is an eclectic place where a variety of subjects are discussed with lot's of humor which is why I'm here.
Both teams are having great years and I am sure there are some Ole Miss boards I would enjoy, someone recommended Redcup but I just haven't checked it out.
ED has some very good posters that are very informed on what is going on at MSU and they know a great deal about sports which I enjoy reading but I don't post much there. I think they get a little too preoccupied with Ole Miss but it is their board and they can do what they want and they certainly don't have to tolerate me.
I actually really like SPS now that most of the lunatic fringe has drifted on to ED. I can tell that you have some that post on both and bring some of the craziness over here, but mostly it's level-headed.
We have some crazies on NAFOOM as well. You have some guys that read the State boards and get high-blood pressure so they post condescending stuff on NAFOOM regarding State/Mullen since they know it's being read by the ED types in hopes to get under their skin. I don't think they really mean a lot of the stuff they say, you can kind of tell it's intentionally overboard but all it takes is one or two of those type posts and then people come out of the woodworks and it snowballs.
I don't think Mullen is going anywhere. With the new money flowing in to both schools, I feel like OM & State have the resources to keep each coach for as long as they would like. We're both familiar with mediocrity and in no way want to return so I don't see how either school could let a bigger program come in and poach the coach (zing) if it's a money situation. Plus, dollars go further in Starkville and Oxford than they do in almost any other college town.
I'm fascinated by where both schools are right now and am interested to see if we can both sustain this sort of success as well as how we handle the rest of the year with these new-found midseason expectations and targets on our backs.
*Sidenote: I'm eerily fascinated by ED. You can find more in-depth actual discussion about Ole Miss issues there than you can find on any Ole Miss board and I think that's why they have a lot of OM readers. Sure, most of it has a negative slant but it's still an interesting perspective to behold.
