He will be surprised to learn that a Van has been added to his name.

Blue is right. Horn ended up in an ideal situation this season with an experienced squad. Plus, Downey is a beast. I'm basing my initial skepticism on the fact that for a few seasons, his WKU squads were the most talented teams in the Sun Belt, but couldn't make the NCAA's because they would get upset in the tournament. His postseason resume is one NIT win, and 2 NCAA tournament wins, one of them being the Drake miracle finish. He should send half of his paycheck to Ty Rodgers every month. If he's still winning games like this in a few years, I'll be impressed.

talking up Gillespie, and saying he was really doing a good job, Tubby left them bare...the usual from Blew...

Then he turns around and talks about Horn being over-rated and how he was lucky this year. Horn has that team playing well, defending, and getting after people. They are winning at a higher clip than they have in awhile- cant see how you can call the guy over-rated

Tubby Smith didn't leave them in that bad shape. And I can guarantee Smith would have won more game with those players than Gillespie could ever even dream of winning with them.

Horn and Johnson at LSU are both good coaches, but I don't think we'll be able to judge just how good they are for a couple more years when they get more of their own players there. Both coaches were left with pretty good situations so the true test of their greatness will come in a few years. No doubt though, both are good coaches and will do well at their respective positions. Also, patdog, I agree, Gillespie's days are numbered at UK.

Its just laughable to call the guy over-rated when he is doing what they brought him in to do. Both guys are doing a damn good job, but you definitely need to judge on a 3-4 year body of work.

some WKU fans wanted him fired before last season's sweet 16 run. After Felton took WKU to the NCAAs 3 straight years, Topper expectations were higher than what Horn had accomplished in his first 4 years. He used the sweet 16 run to jump to the first big time offer he could get, not that I blame him. Seems to have worked out well for both schools.
