While I understand what y'all are saying about 2 games not actually constituting a "hot" team, I think that there are more than 1 way to define hot. Cant hot mean playing really good, even for a short amount of time? I mean if a team shoots 29% in the first half, their playing badly. But if that same team comes back and shoots 72% in the second half, their (by definition) hot. The term "hot" doesn't necessarily conote a certain amount of time. For example, Ohio State ( a hot team by the other definition of "hot"; #10 in the nation) is getting drummed right now at Michigan State. Therefore, they're playing badly, and not hot.
So I guess my question is: Does the term "hot" necessarily conote a certain amount of time?
Personally, I don't think so.
