That makes me feel better then. Smh…..Meh. You are gonna get this with every coach. They all do dumb stuff.

We can at 0-16 in SEC play. No question. Has any coach ever lost his first 16 conference games (or even his first 11), and gone on to be successful? Ever?We can’t go firing coaches before year 3 all the time.
We had nowhere to go but up. This isn’t a major accomplishment. Last year was a 50-year low for MSU football. We are light years better than last year.
So we need the same things we’ve needed just about every single year in MSU’s football history, except 2013-2015. Great. No way this ends poorly. We need a qb and a little bit better OL.
It was a pass that should have never been regardless. There are 1000 Message Board Head Coaches who KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that play should have never been called. There are peewee football coaches all over America and a few in Mexico who know that play should have never been called.Even if the lineman wasn’t there, I have no clue where that ball was going. It was going to be well behind the guy on his route, and possibly picked off by another dude.
Right. None of his misses have been because they are short.Exactly. And really, 5-10 yards closer was meaningless. If ferrie kicks it straight it’s good. If he doesn’t 5-10 yards closer isn’t going to matter.
Yea I gotta say agree Croom would’ve never gotten us bowl eligible in todays SEC and the entire wholesale change of CFB today vs then.SEC competition was WAY worse when Croom was coaching.
It sure looked good to me.Correct. And his miss today film may show went over the top of the upright. But none-the-less, the only thing that should have happened with 27 seconds was centering the football with a run and spiking it.
Real Coaches are “earning” their money. Right now through 11 SEC games coached, Lebby is getting paid $727,272 per LOSS!Real head coaches are getting $10MM+
Just sayin…
Most of them were the dumb jocks from high school. Most of them don't change.Meh. You are gonna get this with every coach. They all do dumb stuff.
"Lebby lost a large portion of the fans tonight"
No doubt. The basic tenet of coaching is that you use your best. Win or lose with your best. Ferrie is one of the best kickers we’ve ever had and one of the best out there. And we don’t use him.I would have been alright missing a FG to lose that game. But to lose like that is horse ****. 17 that guy. I was not a believer anyway but for anyone that was, I hope this opens your eyes.
This is the thing...we were coming out of a timeout. The TO was a bad idea, but since you used it, make sure Shapen knows what he had to do to protect the ball and set us up.Yeah. If we had a time out I maybe understand trying to get closer. But with no time outs just kick it. Lebby outsmarted himself. And for a 5th year qb, Shapen had zero awareness of the situation.
Honestly, I kind of like the idea of going deep there. Don’t this it if he’s covered. But sane as the ASU game, they’re playing to take the short pass into (better) FG position & leave themselves open deep. This is the thing...we were coming out of a timeout. The TO was a bad idea, but since you used it, make sure Shapen knows what he had to do to protect the ball and set us up.
I'm okay with trying to get a TD there, or even trying to get a few more yards, but you need to have the next three plays scripted, and Shapen fully prepared to throw the ball away if anything goes wrong.
What makes it worse is he called a timeout to throw it to the logo, the QB did without a WR there, the WR over ran the logo, and the 17n NOSE GUARD went to the logo and picked it off. The nose guard. That somehow makes it even worse.
We were already 5-10 yards inside Ferrie’s comfortable range. Essentially pissed the game away for nothing.
Yes. He over ran the UF logo. Shapen threw it to the UF logo thinking he would stop there. That was the genius call. The call the NG knew better than our WR did.Basically Seydou either ran the wrong route (he ran to the middle of the field) or Shapen threw to the wrong location. Not sure which one screwed up but the fact they were confused coming directly out of a timeout with arguably the season on the line tells me everything I need to know about Lebby and our staff.
Every coach makes dumb decisions. This was on the other 3 shapen throws he missed for TDs and the fumble
We can’t go firing coaches before year 3 all the time. We are light years better than last year. We need a qb and a little bit better OL.
Welp, think we found the Art Briles burner account.Meh. You are gonna get this with every coach. They all do dumb stuff.
They do. Remember when Saban had the game won against Auburn, tried a FG for some reason with essentially no time remaining, it fell short, and an Auburn guy ran it back about 108 yards for the winning TD? In retrospect, and even at the time, that was a dumb move.Every coach makes dumb decisions. This was on the other 3 shapen throws he missed for TDs and the fumble
Keenum is one of the reasons our overall academics are so terrible (not talking about football and basketball, but students in general). At least we have the honors college to take up slack, but every student in school should be a qualified college student.Should have fired Keenum years ago.
Call it how you want, but Bear Bryant had several BAMA teams back in the day that would have gone undefeated this year.SEC competition was WAY worse when Croom was coaching.
Just maintaining possession would have been good enough. There would have been a ≥50% chance of winning the game then.Booth averaged 4.8 per carry today himself according to the stats, just saying.....
Oh good god.Call it how you want, but Bear Bryant had several BAMA teams back in the day that would have gone undefeated this year.
here's a novel idea. quit hiring inexperienced position coaches and coordinators as head coaches who have no recruiting connections, no recruiting plan, no game management experience, no S&C plan, and no talent evaluation plan (he tried his best to get Jaxson Arnold, who sucks balls at Auburn). in today's climate, an SEC school can't afford to let someone train on the job. you better have the money to pay and hire experience.Real Coaches are “earning” their money. Right now through 11 SEC games coached, Lebby is getting paid $727,272 per LOSS!
Hell of a deal if you can get it!
That just means there’ll be plenty of head coaching experienced coaches on the market, plus we wouldn’t be in competition with many of those schools for the same coaches. We can’t get rid of him. Especially with all the coaching chaos that coming the next 2 months.
You do realize that Bama created the grossly unfair advantages Bear and Saban had right? And Saban quit after those advantages were gone.Call it how you want, but Bear Bryant had several BAMA teams back in the day that would have gone undefeated this year.
Game was tied. It was a long game winning FG attempt with 1 second leftThey do. Remember when Saban had the game won against Auburn, tried a FG for some reason with essentially no time remaining, it fell short, and an Auburn guy ran it back about 108 yards for the winning TD? In retrospect, and even at the time, that was a dumb move.
This. Apparently, trying to win the game in regulation was a "really dumb move".Game was tied. It was a long game winning FG attempt with 1 second left
Counterpoint: All of you guys who want to fire him right now are morons.Anybody defending him as of right now is a moron. We could legit be 2-1 in conference play right now. But we won’t win another game unless he kicks Shapen to the curb.
I was close in my remembering. Anyway, it turned out to not be the wisest choice.Game was tied. It was a long game winning FG attempt with 1 second left
You cant afford to go 0-16 in conference either. MSU has invested a lot and it should buy more than was we are getting. You can't go zero wins in conference two years and keep your job. Even if you seen some signs of improvement and being competive. I'm sure he will get year 3 but if he goes -16 in conference he shouldn'tWe can’t get rid of him. Especially with all the coaching chaos that coming the next 2 months.
How can he kick Shapen to the curb when the only play he has in the book for the backup QB is "QB up the middle"?Anybody defending him as of right now is a moron. We could legit be 2-1 in conference play right now. But we won’t win another game unless he kicks Shapen to the curb.
The guy who rode the bench in junior high and high school, thinks he’s a sports God, so he started a kindergarten through 4th grade football league in the smallest town in bum **** Egypt even though he has no kids or even a wife just so he can walk around town with his chest pumped out thinking he is a football genius knows damn well that call should have never been made. Lebby doesn’t.It was a pass that should have never been regardless. There are 1000 Message Board Head Coaches who KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that play should have never been called. There are peewee football coaches all over America and a few in Mexico who know that play should have never been called.
Yeah. It’s hard to argue with that. He really needs a win.You cant afford to go 0-16 in conference either. MSU has invested a lot and it should buy more than was we are getting. You can't go zero wins in conference two years and keep your job. Even if you seen some signs of improvement and being competive. I'm sure he will get year 3 but if he goes -16 in conference he shouldn't
If you're going to throw the ball in that situation, go for the TD. If you just want a couple more yards, give it to Booth. That somehow makes it even worse.
We were already 5-10 yards inside Ferrie’s comfortable range. Essentially pissed the game away for nothing.
