I think he can't because no good assistants trust the situation that he's created for himself. It's likely a 1-year gig. For some reason, everyone seems to miss that point.

I agree. The best coaches all have one thing in common and its the ability to identify, hire, develop, and retain good assistant coaches.

I say his biggest problem is low IQ
Wanting to see week by week improvement from a team coached by a guy being paid $4,300,000.00 a year is not impatience. What we have in place is incompetence. One (1) quality win in 25 games is evidence enough - the guy is lost!!
Again, in year 2 over double win total, with 3 SEC loses coming by one score or less. Is that evidence of improvement? I’d say so
He’s a good OC when he has a head coach that will veto certain things and calls he wants. Thats the only explanation I can come up with. Hes had good offenses while he’s had a head coach over him. He needs supervision. And if we waste our time and dollars hiring him hand holders like we tried with Hutz, then he’ll suffer the same fate that Hutz did.
That, unfortunately, is the issue. And he’s doing no growing up either. Just wasting time and dollars doing the same crap over and over hoping it’ll work next time, while screwing himself with his decisions.
That seems to be the case with two OC/handlers added to staff, basically you just need to hire a new HC who doesn’t need training wheels
