Lebbys job should be on the line

0-8 in SEC play with a loss to Toledo and no change? I can see where this is heading the next five years.

If he lays another turd like this year it should be a burning hot seat. I know the schedule is very tough but they need to look better than this season
5 wins, I'd think, would be the absolute minimum for 2025 and as we sit here in December 2024 I'm not sure where we get 4 (3?) with our schedule.

It is. Even Selmon might not think so at this point, but his job is on the line. A repeat of this year and the pressure to fire him will be unbelievably strong.
I just wonder what has to happen to get Salmon out of here, and get a real AD, in time to make this call and then get the hire right, by late November 2025.

I hope it does not mean Jans left. Or that we have lost to USM.

I know the fans will lose their minds with a repeat of this year but I think they are already anticipating another losing season. Maybe 2 more. I don't think Selmon will make any rash moves until after season 3 minimum. Maybe more.

I think he gets three for sure. This is a total rebuild and there isn't a quick fix.

he should be fired if a 2-10, 3-9 season next year and that's a real possibility. I'll never understand why we got f'ed so hard on this schedule. Lt's revenge? The conference went balls deep on us. The one year we may could have beaten KY.

I’m not as convinced as some that Selmon is a problem but we are reaching the point of needing to fire everyone. And I don’t see how you can let him make another football hire.

His only problem is he’s not Caucasian. It matters to all these whiners

Surely he only does the ground work and recommends? If we're letting him have 100% autonomy on hiring football coaches, we'll never get out of this hole. At the Barn, I'll assure you Cohen has little input on coaching decisions for the big two.

Who else do you think decided to hire his friend from Oklahoma?
Letting any AD, let alone a first time AD, make an important hire without it getting signed off by the President and 3-4 big time money boosters, would be the most MSU thing ever.

Of course they signed off on it. But they just rubber stamped his decision. And yeah, it is just MSU being lazy MSU. Hire a young, inexperienced AD, let him fire a 1st year football coach who went a respectable 5-7, and then hire his friend who is nowhere near qualified to be head football coach in the SEC.

And that is probably the case with any college programs. Boosters write the checks…

Yeah, I’m not saying that is the issue at all. I’m not connected enough to know why there is such dislike for selmon but there has to be a reason more than his skin color. I will say, as our football program continues to become more of a dumpster fire, I’m turning on selmon more and more everyday.

We can't be 2-10 no way am sec schoo should be that bad. Hell Arnett won 5 and we all agreed he should be canned. I believe 5 should be your floor. Probably 10 is your ceiling at msu on a great year I know recruiting rankings aren't tell all but we are usually high enough in those that we shouldn't be losing to some of those teams we lost to this year or at least be competitive. It's not all talent

I would definitely not want to go back to Arnept. This program is a train wreck and it's not a 2 year turn around. Everybody needs to be patient.

Arnett took a ten win team to five wins of futility, he would have struggled to win 2 this year without Leachs players. both staffs are terribly incompetent.

We have an astonishing amount of delusional fans. Wake the *** up.
I would up vote this but not sure if you're referring to the delusional fans who think he deserves as long as he wants for the "rebuild" or the ones who are correct and know he's not the right guy nor is his OU buddy!

He absolutely has to be gone if we field another 2-win season and get smoked in the SEC. Mullen took over a crap situation but clearly moved us in the right direction year 1 then fired off 8 straight bowls. 2 years is enough to know if you have a turd or not. 4 wins minimum next year or get lost. And 4 is being very patient.

If for some reason unknown to me we can no longer compete the way we have in recent history then let's hand the keys over to someone for dirt cheap and give the savings to Chris 17ing Jans and the basketball program.

Mullen did inherit some decent talent though, and little discipline/stability in the program. Levee came in with the cupboards bare.

10 losses. TEN.

There have only been three seasons in the HISTORY of MSU football where we lost 10 games.
1988 (Tech and Ten)
2003 (Sherrill last year)
2024

We went winless in the SEC for the first time in 22 years.

I have no idea where Selmon or Keenum are getting their cues from, but they're obviously not concerned.
That alone is the most disturbing fact. The level of apathy next year is going to be staggering.

Next year no doubt. I wanted to believe so bad, but this guy is a clown show. He hasn’t even fired Hutz yet and that is the most obvious thing in the world
The thing about firing people is you have to find someone better than them to hire. 1st not sure who would want this job as talent deficient as we are. 2nd you could have Nick Saban and The Hoodie coaching defense but if you don't have the horses its hard to cover that up in the SEC. Yes, I know we were out of position and had poor defensive plays called, but you still have to find someone better and willing to come in to what amounts to a dumpster fire at this point.

I'm more concerned with the AD position than Lebby. I'm willing to accept he inherited a mess and a schedule playing 7 ranked teams. As bad as this year was, I didn't see quit in the team after the Toledo game. I've seen several State teams completely give up on a year. If there is not marked improvement next year I will feel different. From the AD I just don't see anything going on. With as many fans up-in-arms as there are and there are no changes happening, I think he should be communicating the rationale and what the vision is here. He's got to do something to give the fanbase some hope.
