He's not a Magic, Bird, Jordan, Kobe, Bill Russell type of player. He is special on the outside, he has as much talent as anybody that's ever played the game. But he's not special on the inside. He doesnt have that calm that overtakes great athletes when the game depends on them. Montana, Elway, Brady...guys like that, you can just see it on them. Hell, even Dwayne Wade has a good bit of it. LeBron just doesnt have IT.<div>

Nobody was saying that garbage when he was dissecting Boston and Chicago in the playoffs last year while making every clutch play or when he scored 28 straight points in the 4th qtr/OT against Detroit to pretty much put Cleveland in the Finals.
LeBron is the only guy in the league who has to come thru every single time or he's "not clutch" or "doesn't have IT". People have really selective memories.

he is an outstanding player- but he is not "elite"...If you have to make a list of people to win the game for you, if he is in your top 5 of all-time then you are an idiot.

at this point he is not even the best player on his own team, maybe the most talented, but not the best. He is just now 27 years old. He still has time but he has yet to elevate himself above the level of Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley. Like LeBron (so far), all were incrediably talented but did not have the ability to will their team to the championship level.

Name me one player in the top 5 all time that has zero championships. He has the ability to get there but like Coach said LeBron is just missing that certain "it" that the truly great ones have.

He is a great, great player but he shrinks when the spotlight is on him and the pressure is on. Exhibit A: the 2011 NBA Finals, especially game 6. Substitute Jordan, Bird, Magic, Russell, or Kareem in there and the Heat would be the champs.

He's on possibly the most talented team ever assembled and pretty much single handedly blew the finals last year. Sorry, but in order to be an elite player you need to be the guy who wins the big game, not the guy who chokes it away. Add to all this that he is one of the worst human beings on the planet and a gigantic cock sucker and I just really hope the son of a ***** gets hit by a bus. He is not one of the best players in NBA history, he just thinks he is.

it's not that he failed. He clearly has shown the ability to take over and close big games. Not sure I can remember somebody with his talent and the mental capability to really be a finisher simply disappear in half his big games. Not choke and screw up, but simply shy away from the challenge. He's still young enough to fix it, but he's been playing professionally long enough that you have to wonder if he ever will, and having Wade as a crutch is probably not going to help him do it.

their inability to execute against Dallas' zone defense cost them the Finals. He just didn't jack up bad jumpshots against it like Kobe did (the reason they got swept).

It wasn't just LeBron last night all 3 of them laid down.

The Big3 were like 3-16 in the 4th and OT.
They probably combined for less than 50% of FT.
They had some turnovers late too.
The Heat had 1 FG the final 11 (maybe longer) minutes of the game.

You're not going to win many games like that at any level. Now, I will say this; they're in the middle of a brutal road trip (5 games in 8 days), and it was their 2nd straight OT game. They looked tired to me, and when 75% and 90% free throw shooters are missing free throws, it's usually because they're gassed.

LeBron shot 11/30 FG (0-7 on threes) and averaged 12.5 ppg in Miami's Game4 and Game5 losses in the Finals last year. If that isn't choking then I don't know what is.

Also, do you really want to bring Kobe and his 5 rings into this discussion?

me, that he is one of the most gifted players ever (talent wise). The thing that is hindering him right now, is his mental approach to basketball. If he put the time that Kobe does into basketball, he would be (without a doubt) the best ever. That's the only thing holding him back. Even with that, he still dominates.

last possession - who's hands do you put the ball in - all time. Lebron is way down the list for me and definately not top 5. Just from my era Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Wade and Hakeem pop into mind with 10 second of thought.

you don't understand the meaning of an opinion? I never said to specifically "air it out". I said you can't play not to lose football. I didn't grow up watching Bird, Magic or Kareem so they aren't in MY top 5. Jordan, Shaq, Reggie, Kobe, LeBron are my top 5. Go 17 yourself hulkbuster.

He is 27 years old and just entered the prime of his career. He is averaging 29, 8, and 8 while shooting 58% from the floor. He will win at least 1 championship.

But I don't talk about brain surgery, rocket ships or microsoft because I don't know what 17 i'm talking about in doing so (based on my lack of knowledge). I talk about football, mma, basketball & cars because those are subjects I actually have first hand knowledge of. I coach football, have played @ a decent high level (2 state championships), fought 12 times in MMA, have coached/taught CQC (close quarters combat), played basketball alot of my life & have been an NBA fan since the mid-late 80's. Air it out & stop picking your nose.
