He’s a great ball player. But he wasn’t allowed to be guarded tonight. Anytime someone got close it was a whistle. Much like the Brady effect.

But yes. He is a fantastic player.

NBA wasn't going to let Celtics win. And I'm a Lakers fan. Lebron is cheer leading Houston hard but im afraid finals loss 6 is coming.

Sweet! Another lebron thread, this will go 5 pages and end in politics. That said, Boston picked a hell of a time to lose their first home game. Green was a beast tonight and he was needed without love being out there

Your tears are delicious.

Tears nothing. I don’t overly watch pro ball. Mainly the finals and that’s it. LBJ is allowed to shove off at will. Granted he gets fouled a lot too. But it’s the conference finals. Let them play. Saw some ticky tack fouls called in there.

Absolutely hated this guy in the beginning, hated him more when he joined the heat. Earned my respect when he went back to Cleveland. Now I'm putting him in my greatest players I've had a chance to witness in my generation with MJ and Kobe. To take this group to the finals is just incredible.

Does lebron get favorable calls? Sure, but the Celtics self destructed in the last two minutes. They were still in it and after they missed a shot they were done. When it was a one possession game they missed a ft and back to back threes on offensive rebounds.

I enjoy watching Tatum kill it in the NBA knowing puke misused him completely lol

This gets annoying. I don’t have an nba team and watch the playoffs more than the regular season, so I’m not saying this as some Lebron super fan, but why is it that most of the time people give him credit they have to make sure to degrade him somehow. People have to say something negative before going “but yeah, he’s good”. He shot 11 free throws so 8 of his 35 points came at the line. So saying they wouldn’t allow him to be guarded is silly. Boston got called for 20 fouls to Cleveland’s 21 so how is that an excuse?

Give the man his credit. He’s great, he’s the best NBA player in the league and is one of the best ever and has shown that throughout the playoffs time and time again. Boston couldn’t stop him and they lost. They tried doubling him as I thought they should and he had 9 of the teams 15 assists. He also had 15 rebounds. So you can’t blame the refs on those stats

Let’s wait to see what he does in the finals till we call him the greatest ever. If he beats the Warriors then he’s got a solid argument. Easily second best ever, but his career is not over yet.

So did anyone expect anything different than what happened?

The NBA is extremely scripted. There will be no surprises. It's not wrestling scripted, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up there by 2100.

That debate seems to come up so much but I’ve finally conceded I’m going to just watch him for who he is. He’s great and will be talked about for years down the road like bird, magic and Jordan no matter who’s better.

How many times did Jordan take the Wizards to the playoffs?

James got these goobers on the finals.

LBJ and MJ are the best ever.

That said, Jordan never was given the gift of walking through such a pathetic eastern conference like the one this year. Even the Celtics, minus Irving/Hayward, would have been blitzkrieged by MJ’s Bulls. Pick any MJ year in the 90s, including the 1990 team that didn’t win it.

But keep plugging what ESPN wants you to plug.

Is Lebron protected? Of course, just like every other comparable superstar.
He also is far and away the best player in the league right now.
Love that he appears to only have children with his wife and is very obvious about reading books.
I just wish he wasn’t the most flopping and whining sports personality who doesn’t play soccer or Duke basketball.
Boston had a chance in the last few minutes but they fell in love with shooting 3s vs. driving to the rim.

Jordan never took a team even half as bad as this one to the NBA Finals. If you can think of 3 rosters in the entire NBA worse than the Cavs (excluding LeBron), please do name them.

What kind of **** argument is this? Lmao.

Are you comparing Jordan's supporting cast to LeBron's scrub *** team? If you put Jordan on that Cavs team and LeBron on that Bulls team, then guess who will get blitzkrieged?

Lebron doesn't get the protection Jordan did IMO.

He gets beat on pretty good every game because his game is more going to the rim. He actually takes a lot of punishment. I think players get away with a lot against him at times too because he's such a physical freak guys hit him and just bounce off of him.

IMO the most remarkable things I have seen in sports ( ie with my own eyes in my 38 years on this earth ) is Lebron getting this team to the finals and Butler making the title game 2 years in a row. All I will say about the Jordan vs Lebron debate is this . In a big time game Jordan might get you 55 pts , 4 rebs and 4 assists but Lebron will get you 44 pts 15 rebs and 13 assists . So I know which one I would choose but to each their own.

I think the biggest thing I took out of the playoffs so far is how good a coach Brad Stevens is. The Celts are going to be tough with Hayward and Irving next year.

I’m arguing that the east is crap.

You’re the guy touting the west as perhaps the best conference ever. That’s fine. But that argument doesn’t somehow mix into the eastern conference merely by association.

The.

East.

Is.

Crap.

Jordan never had it so easy, especially in the 80s when teams like Boston/Detroit were waiting. That kind of makes it difficult to know what he might have done to a team as lacking in talent as the Celtics team.

LBJ is still great, but the jury is still out on where he stands. Taking a crap team through a crap conference tournament doesn't solidify the #1 spot.

I wonder if Morris and Tatum are still running their mouths to Lebron now. That dunk by Tatum was impressive, but when they both yelled and got in Lebron a face, all they did was poke the bear. Smart move idiots.
Lol Tatum yelling at Bron didn’t lead to them losing . Boston just couldn’t score down the stretch. It’s not like Lebron went insane to end the game.

I don’t even remember Morris mouthing off at Bron

Personally, I think it's idiotic to compare players, especially when the rules of the game, the style of play, and the landscape is completely different. Lebron is definitely one of the greatest. He is definitely the most gifted player ever to play. This has always been a star-driven league; the East has no true superstars outside of Lebron. Put Jarrod Polson on any church league, and his team would dominate the league, regardless of who else is playing (assuming no other D-1 players). I think Jordan would go to eight straight finals too, but we would never know. If the East got to pick an MVP (the most outstanding player over the course of the season, not actual MVP) it would probably go to Kyle Lowry (Lebron half-assed 80% of the regular season).[roll]
