Damn. A great actor. Tender Mercies, just brilliant. Rest Easy.
Damn. All time great. RIP.
Yes he was.
He was so good in Lonesome Dove and as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Tender Mercies and The Great Santini. He was in some iconic movies.
Moms traveling this week, im cranking this movie up tonite
His role in Open Range was typical Duval- brilliant but subtle.
True Legend. RIP. Surprised how old he was at the end. So many great rolls, so many great movies.
For a Hollywood actor, he always came across as a down-to-earth, regular guy.
My 1a for greatest living Western actor. Now that spot belongs solely to Wes Studi.

He had a place in Middleburg and rode a lot. Was just browsing the latest Middleburg Life magazine and they were mentioned. He seemed to be living the rancher lifestyle for long time.
The man never failed to be interesting. My eyes always went to him when he was in the screen.
May celestial light shine upon him.

My favorite genres are Mob Movies and Westerns and he played memorable roles in both. Dang, time catches up to us all. RIP and hope to see you in heaven someday!
When you think of The Natural, you think of Redford and Duvall first. The Judge was supposed to be the villain, but Duvall was so good you think of him as the bad guy.
Just fantastic as Gus McRae in Lonesome Dove. He lived up to the literary character perfectly

He was awesome as the dad in "Four Christmas's".

People in middleburg aren’t “ranchers”. Rode my gravel bike out there a lot and always wondered where his place was.
he was also a very accomplished tango dancer and aficionado.
my favorite sleeper Duvall movie was the apostle.
