and I’m paraphrasing based on what he said on T&L, but it was essentially…

State is not a big player in the portal when it comes to NIL, and we have to take a money ball approach. It’s certainly better than some, but a long ways from others.

So for those that continue to believe that we’re in a great spot with NIL and that we’re repeatedly matching or beating offers from rival schools in baseball, our head coach seems to disagree with you.

Time for him to get off his bucket and walk around the stadium with his offering plate. I'm sure there would be plenty enough to go around.

No person with an IQ above room temperature has seriously accepted that state is, or ever will be, a major player in the NIL world. Ever. Only the most seriously deluded fool sunshine pumper would say that we are even close to the top half of the conference

I'm assuming he's downplaying it (like Saban did at Bama) to give himself an out and pressure the fanbase for more donations. As many MLBers as we put out, NIL shouldn't be an issue.

Not a major player, but we have adequate amounts for baseball (and basketball). Like others have said, money was not the deciding factor for Skenes and others.

We actually never have been a major player in the college baseball money world. Before NIL, we never recruited as well as LSU, Florida or Vanderbilt. Georgia and others would be up there too if they cared. We money-balled then as well. That's why it was easy for us to go over into AL, because 1 - we cared, and 2 - our tuition was cheap enough that it was a better deal than Alabama and Auburn.

We will also have to figure out the formula now for NIL, because while we aren't elite, we're still adequate. Should be able to solidly land 4 star type players and develop. Unfortunately I don't think that's where Lemonis shines. Cohen was great at it.

Football? LOL, yeah. Ole Zac and Lebro are trying to do it that way though. Morons.

100%. He needs to go take that BS where somebody will listen. The head coaches at Southern Miss, South Alabama, Louisiana Tech, Kennesaw State, etc. would kick his lard asss if he said that to their face.

One reason was that Polk got lazier and lazier in recruiting.

Rumor is we offered Skenes more than LSU. Skenes thought he had a better shot at winning at LSU. And guess what - he was right.

I went back and listened. I don't know where we are relative to the SEC but we have lost out on some players where $$$ wasn't an issue.

"NIL is more expensive every year. We are probably not one of the bigger NIL players out there. We are a little bit of a moneyball approach"

CL has made the comment that he does not know the specifics of NIL deals with individual players and does not want to know. It seems that he does not want to risk making decisions about playing time based on NIL numbers.
It is not honest of him to state that MSU is not top 10-15 in baseball NIL expenditures.

If he wants more money then they need to add or revamp seating. I stopped giving to baseball and dedicated it just to basketball and football. Until I gets seats I'm sending it elsewhere. All those guys gets deals on their seats and asking a fortune online can pay for it.

We don't need to have a large nil pool for baseball. Have these recruits seen our stadium? It's the carnegy hall of baseball! The players should be paying MSU to play there.
