Someone else posted that we should celebrate the guys that do commit to playing for our school rather than wasting energy bemoaning the decisions of young teenagers to play for a different school. I tend to agree with that. While I am a bit disappointed on not receiving commitments from some of Mississippi's highest ranked players, I think we still have an excellent class regardless of what happens tomorrow. What do I mean?

If you compare the number of kids with an average rating of 86 or better, this class has more kids already than 2013 and 2014:
- 2016 has 10 players rated above 86
- 2014 had 7 players rated above 86
- 2013 had 6 players rated above 86

More players have actually played significant minutes for MSU, so this class stacks up pretty well with previous classes as it stands today. It may even get better tomorrow. That's simply if you believe in the rating systems. However, we've had a large number of kids with lower ratings that many fans didn't get that excited about contribute including Jamal Clayborn (83) and Derunnya Wilson (82) among many others. So let's celebrate our new family members that want to be at MSU.

yes, lets take timmy here....

timmy is 5'8" 145, runs a 4.9 forty and dreams of playing rb. timmy was the mvp of his private school in senatobia single a and stayed with brandon holloway on his visit.

or george:

george here is what john hevesy labeled as a million dollar stallion, not because of his play on the field, but his notorious record of naps in one day. had it not been for football, george would most likely have pursued a career as a Nathan's hotdog eating champion in waiting. george is 6'3" plays offensive tackle and runs a 6.7 fourty.

welcome aboard guys.

Some people just like to ***** and moan. Some don't. No one's blowing sunshine. Take a look and the numbers from class to class and the guys that we already have stack up pretty well with previous classes except the 2015 class which was exceptional. We have less elite rated players but more upper middle rated players than normal. If half these guys contribute at need positions then it will be a successful class. I'd still like to get the local guys, but its not the end of the world.

Mental is paying to sit in the cold and rain watching the craptastic product that Croom delivered on the field.

Morgan-walker, Thompson, Roberson, couch, and Spencer are gonna be really good players in a few years. I'm really disappointed that we lost lashley, but we still did better than usual on oline

I agree with you. It doesn't make sense to communicate the guys willing to sign tomorrow that fans don't value them. I think people can still be upset about the ones who get away, but talking down the guys who will play for State just seems dumb and unnecessary.

I also don't fully get people who seem to discount how hard it would be to recruit against Alabama in a year that they won a national championship. I know that State has to get recruits at that level to complete with Bama at the level, and I want it to happen. But to go with an assumption that they were State's to lose just seems weird.

I really like Spencer but he hasn't even taken the ACT yet so who knows if he qualifies. I guess that really helped us though bc he couldn't take any official visits.
