This crazy negative Husker Season can actually be turned around with a victory against IOWA on Black Friday.
Hopefully the Huskers and Black Shirts will get the job done and our record can be evened up at 6-6.
When this happens, then all of Husker Nation can celebrate. I am excluding Shawn and Harvey, because they continue to suck, but the rest of Nebraska can move on to better times. And PS to Tommy.....please, no stupid interceptions....please!!!!

Not that it is any of my business but just wanted some of your opinions on using the term Black Shirts in regards to your defense. Do you feel it should still be used in years when the D isn't very stout like this year giving up 27.7 points per game. My personal opinion is it is kind of an insult to the great Nebraska defenses that the it referenced originally and certainly deserved the nickname and earned it. Or is the defense just automatically the Black Shirts by default?

It's automatically the blackshirts. Some years are better than others but I don't mind calling them that during the bad years.

It's been a tradition here for over 40 years. They'll be the BLACKSHIRTS win lose or draw.

Totally disagree on that one. You need to check the history of what pride these kids take in getting one of those jersey's and the history that is involved. Watch Gangwish and his reaction.

The starting Defensive players at Nebraska are the Blackshirts. Pelini tried to play his little coaching games to earn them - which never seemed to work. In the Bobfather's hay day the Blackshirts were a darn good defense. Under Osborne we had good defenses and not so good defenses - they were ALWAYS the Blackshirts and they still are today. End of story Herky fan.

Your actually trying to say the Huskers haven't had a solid or good defense from 2000 till 2010? Im not a fan of Bo but we have had some top defenses in those years you pointed out, i cant remember the exact year it was off hand but Suhs senior year we had a top 10 if not top 5 defense. Suhs senior season The Huskers was shutting every one down and there where a few other years our defense was top 20, like when LaVante David was tearing your team and other teams heads off. Yes this year our defense struggled early on because half our defense and 2nd string guys have been hurt, but there doing good now and the Chuckeyes will see this first hand Friday.
