The day started with the video equivalent mic bombing of Hiroshima. (I imagine Nagasaki is loaded up and ready to go if this video war doesn't end, now) When you search for "Ole Miss," the #1 result is something about a game with LSU a couple years ago. #2 in just a day is the "Tradition" video. Every recruit (athletes and students alike) and their parents will easily be able to see what they are really about.

Let me break this down for you.

In just over 24 hours, over 10,000 people have watched an 8:30 documentary on what life is about in Oxford. That's over 1500 hours of video slamming Ole Miss. Their athletic department, their university. Their people. That video will be there forever. When Sally wants to go to Ole Miss law school, Sally's dad will type "Ole Miss" in You Tube's search and see a video named "Tradition" and he will watch it. Sally won't be going to Ole Miss. Jimmy 4.3 speed will consider Ole Miss from big high school in Houston. Jimmy 4.3's cousin will send him a link to the video and Jimmy 4.3 speed will go to Oklahoma instead.

In a couple of weeks, Pastor Dan Mullen's videos have received about 654 hours of views, that some could see as positive for recruiting. Who cares if recruits watch them. You could find similar footage on every college football team in America. You can't find race-related riots and president's sending the national guard on campus, KKK rallies on campus, and Crunchy Mikes on every campus in America.

When we finally got through the day, we jumped on Ole Miss early on the court and had a dominant victory that did not see a single digit margin in the second half.

Then we win the Mississippi Cup in tennis from them, which pissed off just as many of their high and mighty "We're better than you" crowd.

I'd say it was a good day for Our State.

Today they are licking their wounds. Red Cup and Rebellion and Pastor Dan Mullen and many of their fans are calling for civility in the video wars. Facebook posts about an Ole Miss family, etc. Their basketball team is seemingly destined for the NIT unless they pull some major upsets. And there are serious questions whether Andy Kennedy should be retained - which would give them two new head coaches in the two biggest sports and a new AD next year. The tennis team is still good, ranked No. 21 in the nation, but they are looking up at a MSU squad that is defending SEC West champions, and will scratch on the Top 10's door next week, and is in prime position to host a regional as a national seed in what has been their sport.

There's always their engineering school.

They are imploding from the inside out and we all have a front row seat. Just fired their football coach and replaced him with a former girl's basketball coach. Grumbling wanting their basketball coach fired. Give it three more weeks and they will start grumbling again about Bianco needing to be fired. The one thing they could find to gloat about was winning at recruiting. We all know how that wound up this year. Maybe, after Freeze has Mullen's shoe surgically removed from his butt, he will return it to him. They are so near the point of a nervous breakdown they aren't even trying to pretend LSU is the only team they are concerned about. With what little sanity they have left they are racking their whiskey fueled brains trying to find something they can think they are better than us at. As much as I loathe anything regarding UM, I hate to see such a large number of people so near the breaking point. I keep remembering the post on a UM site earlier where the poster was implying that a bullit to the head was better than watching UM sports. To keep that from happening and to keep other UM fans off of water towers I will give you one thing you are better about than MSU. You can at least have this one thing to gloat on.

You are without out a doubt the best at being holier than thou stuck up snobs with an entitlement complex the world has never seen. From your national championships you fished out of the bottom of a box of Cracker Jacks to that pathetic little wooded area you call the grove, UM fans can take absolutely nothing and make it seem like the best on the planet in your own mind and crow about it incessantly. Only at Ole Miss could you have such a pathetic football team, get a new coach and then proceed to get waxed in recruiting and still brag about how you are going to hand us our heads on NEXT year's NSD. Yes sir, Ole Miss is the epitome of a paranoid person with delusions of grandeur.

I hoep this makes you feel at least some better.</p>

we need. We need an assistant AD from another very successful program who has experience digging a prominent program out of a hole. He needs to be less concerned with keeping the Ole Miss image intact and extremely concerned with winning. Ole Miss fans, Alumni and students will always keep Ole Miss, Ole Missish. Our positive traditions, history and culture will never die. Our negative traditions, history and culture need to die a rapid death and one of the best ways to do that is to bury it under a mountain of wins and enthusiasm.

Even state fans have to admit, this **** is never an issue when we're winning. It's ******* OM fans allowing ******* state fans to drag them into this ******** that pisses me off.

It would raise red flags to me because Walker's family and Archie's family are close. That depends on your definition of GOB though. A good ole boy hire is one who gets a job based on who he knows, not what he knows. In that case, Jones would certainly look like a GOB hire unless his resume is stronger than I think. In other words, it is possible to be connected AND be the best candidate, though I'd want to know what his qualifications were to make him the best candidate before I'd feel good about it if he were hired.

That said, the meaning of GOB at Ole Miss has taken on a more specific meaning. It's used to refer to a specific group who have essentially kept power of the university and athletic department for decades now. In that case, I believe Walker falls outside of that group and outside of that definition. That said, I'm hesitant about Jones because of his connections. That's not necessarily fair to him though, so like I said I'd want to see his resume and accomplishments to see if that would verify my suspicions.

I haven't heard anything on the AD hire though, but I do know they're going to go through the full process with plans to conduct interviews with the top candidates they find. Contrary to the internet rumors, Walker Jones is not being handed the job. Not saying it's impossible he gets the job, but it's not predetermined. I know that much for sure.

I'm content with the process the committee is going to use, and like Oxpatch said, we needed a changing of the guard, and I am confident that's what we'll get.

As far as the athletic department is concerned, we're taking the right steps. We're making the right changes to the department. Our marketing is as good as it has been in my life. It's just that they've had a poor product to market recently. We've got a fundraiser going to take care of the biggest facility needs currently on our campus (closing in the stadium and building a basketball arena). As long as we get some young energy in that isn't content with the status quo, we are making the right moves, and we'll come out on the other side fine. It just won't be an overnight transformation, just like it wasn't an overnight transformation when you overthrew Templeton and company.

Which I think was the point of his post. As for your post, I might actually agree with some of it if it wasn't so riddled with profanity (I'm not overly fond of GD).

He wouldn't pass the 'who you know, not what you know' test, but he's not really a part of the old guard that has run the show at Ole Miss for so long. He's not an insider with that group. Neither are Mike or Archie, though they're both obviously well connected with the university.

I honestly don't know if there is a potential candidate that would be fully intertwined with the old guard that's been running the show for decades at Ole Miss, but I'd definitely like to see us go get someone with athletic department experience or at least some very impressive business experience in taking products or businesses that are failing and turning them around.

Most importantly, we need to hire someone who sees our inherent limitations as challenges to be overcome with hard work, not ceilings that we can't break through.

Seriously, I'm sick and tired of you dick breathed mother 17ers. It is comical how not a single one of you said anything was wrong when one of your pansy assed, limp wristed, bear sodomising fans called Mullen an atheist but by gosh it's down right childish and uncouth when an MSU fan shines the spotlight on the true history of ole miss. Unlike the Mullen video, none of the ole miss video is manufactured, it's all a matter of record.<div>
</div><div>Ole miss was the scene of ugly race riots that centered around integrating the school, ole miss is the alma mater of the racist Governor Ross Barnett and Micheal Hudec was a student at ole miss when he uttered those famous words for all of the world to see. Andy Kennedy was the ole miss head men'sbasketball coach when he went all racist in Cincinnati and caused an international "altercation". </div><div>
</div><div>As for the claim that this video is bad for the whole State of Mississippi, I call B.S. it is certainly bad for ole miss, not so much the rest of us though.</div><div>
</div><div>So suck it, this is Our State!</div>

doing to "bring down OM" and assist in our "super awesome meltdown". He was praising retard fans from state for riling up retard fans from OM and throwing in some sports info and tennis smack for good measure.

His post is pure ****. The OM video is pure ****. The state video is pure ****. Any further videos are pure ****. To sum up, all Ole Miss fans who can't take their lumps and sit quietly while state fans run wins and loses smack on them are childish idiots. Defending Ole Miss against message board heros from other programs is fine, as long as they stick to the facts and leave out ridiculous assumptions, ******** accusations and conspiracy theories. But they need to stay the hell off the internet when it comes to mud slinging and slam pieces and worry about OM sports. Support the teams, pour money into the program and spend their time focused on making sure that our AD hire is a good one. THAT'S IT.

If state fans want to spend their time jerking around OM fans, fine. But that also speaks to their level of ignorance when they'd rather cheer on dumbass video conflicts which will ultimately hurt BOTH schools in the eyes of the rest of the country. 17 both of us for even winding up in this mess.

I don't even think his business experience is all that applicable to our job.

You don't have to have worked in an athletic department to be able to run one successfully, but you better have some applicable experience.

For me, he would be underwhelming to say the least. I want someone younger, preferrably in their late 30s/early 40s. I would accept someone from an NFL type background too.

This one is a little younger than I'd like, but a guy like Jamil Northcutt has experience that I think would be good. He's currently an Assistant AD for us. He worked in the NFL for a while too. Again, he's probably about a decade away from being ready for the job in my opinion, but I use him to point out the type of resume and experience combination that I think would be good to have.

As if to make the point. So damn funny!

As for the kid, he got run out because it was put online but please don't tell me you are so $%+%$*% stupid as to believe there wasn't a lot of that sentiment going on in the grove. I was there a couple of times that year and this wasn't the only kid saying such things. He's just the only one that embarrassed the school publicly.

Can we cut through your conquest to be the "one true Rebel voice of reason and morality" and get to the question as to who really gives a flying 17 what "the nation" thinks about the state of MS. Why is that always the backdrop when racial discussions or image discussions come about? I don't care. People around the country have thought this way for as long as the history books have been around, and it might change and it might not. That's the thing about people's perceptions or ideas, theyare onlychanged with facts or positive emotions over and over. A few years of, "hey, we don't want you to think we're racist anymore, so we're going to do away with all the bad stuff in our culture," isn't going to fool anyone.

What I do care about, what really matters to me as a FAN, is who wins the games on the field. All this other ******** is just that-********. The marketing, the billboards, the banter, the **** talking, all of it is inconsequential to me. I just wanna win. And as long as we do that against OM, they can piss and moan and ***** all they want, but if you got the W's and the hardware, all that amounts to nothing but being winey bitches which is what they are being right now.

So, can someone explain to me, concisely, withough breaking out some high levelmoral drivel, how can a few videos on the internet "bring down both schools" athletically? I mean, if we are talking about bringing us down as far as civility, that ship sailed a long time ago.
