Gotta be tough. Ellis Johnson is a good DC though, so I'm anxious to see his plan. If we rip them too, I'm not sure you can plan on beating us without scoring 35

One of the best in the business is getting his shot this weekend.

If we put up yards and points on Ellis's crew, I'm just gonna go ahead and start packing for Pasadena.

I want this to get more play because damnit - I put almost 15 minutes of research into this. Extrapolating our numbers to a full game of our first 3 quarters of each game this season. Idea from Hump4Hoops.

So we have played 15 quarters (5 games * 3 quarters) which amounts to 4.25 games. So the average is taking the total and dividing it over 4.25 games. Excuse me if the math/logic is wrong.

I fully expect them to play through the whistle. They will go after Dak early and often. A penalty here and there will probably be worth it for them.

They might not wanna play like that. Our fans might rush the field midgame as much as Dak is loved here

Ellis is old school, the plan will center around hitting Dak hard and often.

Dak will be tested.

Auburn is 10th in the sec in sacks. I wonder if they dare blitz us this week. If they can't pressure Dak with 4, I think they're in trouble

Nah, the Heisman leader gets extra protection from the refs. Plus, there's D-Day

He would stomp 'em into the DWS drainage system.

Anybody besides me shocked speechless when the refs ejected the Aggie DE? I was thinking "Whoa ... we finally made Slive's good list"

Quickest way ...

What's your gameplan for Saturday? Where do you start?

to get an answer would be to ask Geoff Collins. He will be facing an almost 'mirror' offense.

I felt a lot better about facing Auburn after they played K State and LA Tech ... until I caught some of the LSU game. I just can't figure just how much our game with LSU took out of them. But, Auburn systematically dismantled them.

To beat Auburn, we have to beat Marshall just like aTm's Kenny ThrillHill. Put constant pressure on Marshall, control the run and limit the passing damage.

He is old school, so his gameplan should be relatively easy to figure out.

1. Shut down the middle. I know, its easier said than done, but they will try. They have better DTs than LSU, but I'm not sure how they compare to TAMU. Anyway, they will try to prevent Dak and Robinson from running up the middle.

2. Use their speed to stretch out the sweeps and screen passes and stop those plays for little or no gain.

3. Pray that their DBs can defend downfield.

I was not impressed with Auburn's defense against Arkansas or K-State. They have been improving, but I'm not even sure they can pull of step 1 of this plan, much less the other two steps.

There were times during the K-State game that Auburn's D-Line looked gassed. As long as we keep the no huddle going and don't let them sub, they won't get as much pressure. Conversely, I can see our front 7 doing what they did against the Aggies and getting enough stops to keep them from gaining momentum.

it feels nice to be a protected team for once. that alone lets you know dak has a legit shot at it.

Yeah, I think you gotta decide to take away Dak's running ability first. That's what will hurt you on 3rd down. Goal for the Ds this game will be to get off the field on the 3rd down.

I just can't figure just how much our game with LSU took out of them.
ls-who looks like a young squad right now with no on the field leader. they didn't have a way to stop the avalanche and it showed this last weekend.

Wow that is crazy - we are playing ourselves on Saturday. Home team wins! It is remarkable how evenly matched these two teams are, and I would argue our competition has been pretty even with the exception of Auburn having to deal with an additional top 25 type team in Arkansas. Gonna be a slugfest.

I think the strategy has to be to force us into obvious passing downs, by making plays in the backfield on early downs. You give up big plays for turnover opportunities.
Our strategy should be to keep Marshall in the pocket. He's fast, shifty and throws better on the run. And be wary of the deep middle routes.

Theres not been a better time for me to move to LA till now

I moved out here in August and been meaning to walk around the Rose Bowl but now I'm convinced superstitiously to not go until 2015 for the first trip. This is crazy theres a long way to go till then but I could be 5 miles away from seeing State play. Never in a million years

Not wanting to be that low-post guy coming up against the godfather, but 15 quarters is 3.75 games. So your averages for a game/four quarters should be 52.26, 628.8, 15.2, 374.93. If you took away the UAB, LSU, and TexasAM 4th quarters (leaving 17 quarters), you would have 4.25 games.

I stared at this for a good minute trying to figure out what kind of weird basketball analogy you were using here. I wouldn't want to be up against DS in the low post either.
