I'm posting this to remind everyone just how far we have come under Coach Cut. I was at the 40-3 defeat in 2002 during my freshman year. That game came after we beat ECU the week prior to snap a 2-year winless streak and carried the goalposts all the way to East Campus. Talk about going from really high to really low in such a short amount of time. Reading articles like this and remembering the dark days of Duke football during my undergrad years just makes me appreciate Coach Cut and our players even more.

You gotta believe. I've watched Duke football for a long time and I've seen bigger upsets. We weren't given a snow balls chance at N.D. either and came out with a win. I think we can pull it of tomorrow night. I can't help it. I'm a Duke fan. It's my nature. OFC

What about that Duke scoring drive and then holding UL to a fg. There are positives going on. We may still lose this game by 40 but Duke right now is competing. OFC

End of the night, great showing by Duke. Definitely shows that Duke football is relevant and is continuing to improve.
I know right. And he's no rookie what a stupid mistake. The staff really killed the game for me when they kicked that fg though. The smart move was to go for it on 4th and 2 based on conditions. It just made no sense to go for the fg

great effort by the team tonight. couple of bad breaks. the roughing call was a good call but damn we cant make that kind of error. the non fumble in the second was a blown call. sux but the team played on and were very good tonight. two big injuries tonight. anthony nash and austin parker with broken collarbones. good chance they could be gone for season but maybe back before end? seems like these are normally 4 to 6 week type injuries if memory serves
by the way can we give props to dukes defense. i get as frustrated as anyone that we seem to give up 2 or 3 big plays a game where if we had made that tackle or if guys had stayed in their lanes or where was the db? that being said, they are being really good at shutting other teams down. in our 4 losses, we have given up 24, 24, 34 and 24. the 34 by uva is kinda off due to the fumble by our offense they recovered for a td. if our offense was just a bit better we could be a competitive team right now. i think with another year or two of player growth and recruiting that coach albert and the others are going to have a legit '' acc championship'' level defense. hats off to the growth i feel that i am seeing..
Huge missed chance there. We were playing with house money anyway so why not? Its not like our kicker has been gold.
