I agree hart, 1 lazy win against WF in the last 1.5 years but the kids are fighting. I am still optimistic looking forward. I think our offense will be good next year. Our D is solid at LB and our line has a great coach. Quite honestly, I don't think our kicking game can get any worse.
We have shown improvement over the season, but it hasn't translated to wins. If we could've gotten the upset at L'ville, that changes the whole season imo. It doesn't fix some of our issues, but it does give us some momentum which we have none off. It also boosts confidence, and while we don't seem to be down on ourselves, we don't seem to have that edginess about us that we did a couple of seasons ago.
Obviously, getting to a bowl at this point is highly unlikely but it is really important that we finish strong. I am not saying we have to win one+ of these last 3(it would be ideal), but we must show up to play and not mail it in. We need close games even if we don't win them. At this point, it is about playing to a standard and not being concerned about the record.
From a coaching standpoint, it is time to pull out all of the stops. We need to be more aggressive, it is just that simple. A little trickeration wouldn't hurt. We have executed some funky stuff in the past, and it would be the big swing we have lacked in these close games.
thanks dukeman. I don't blame the kids but it's obvious that the coaching staff continues to put this team in tough unwinnable situations like yesterday and louisville. It's mind boggling. I saw the fg kick on a replay and wtf was our guy doing? he let him run past him and blocked another guy we already had in check. so stupid
Special teams continue to be abysmal. Cut's decision to punt is incomprehensible. Why did he think that our defense stood a better than even chance to hold the Hokies for three downs?
Just a reminder that the game this week is Thursday night on ESPN at 7:30. I hope I don't have to remind no one who we are playing and what happened the last time these vandals from unc came to Wallace Wade. They whipped us pretty good that day and we owe them. But it wasn't the loss as much as what they did to our visitors locker room. How in the world a coaching staff would allow this to happen is beyond me. How can a coach not seen it. At least one coach. It all goes back to the integrity of that coaching staff and the control they had over these hoodlums. Oh yes the unc faithful say but Fedora paid for the damage out of his own pocket , now that says something about his character but he whined about the amount of the bill. What I'm asking for from this board is that if you are just a Duke basketball fan and not necessarily a Duke football fan it is still a Duke program and a Duke athletic facility was vandalized by there's no other word for it vandals is to watch and support our Duke football team on Thursday night. Hopefully the security will be beefed up at the visitor locker room this year and their coaching staff will baby sit after the game regardless of the outcome. You see unc nation is hoping that Duke nation has forgotten. Sorry not yet. OFC
Will NEVER forget their trashing of our facilities...One of the lowest acts of all time for a college team traveling w/coaching staff to play at an opposing school. Our guys have to be fired up!

I think it wouldn't have changed if the locker room vandalism had not happened. Shame. What do you guys think about the new victory bell?

There has been a lot of blowback about the decision, so I wonder if it will change back next year. I'm hoping that whoever wins will still paint it though.I think it wouldn't have changed if the locker room vandalism had not happened. Shame.

Sorry for leaving it out. Of course it shouldn't have happened and I hope that it was dealt with harshly. No comment about the vandalism huh. I guess that has been swept under the rug too like ever thing else. OFC
Agreed. Fun tradition for the players if done without damaging property.I'm hoping that whoever wins will still paint it though.
