Armstrong hit .391 his freshman yr. and .404 his sophomore yr. during is juco days. That is STRONG. I can't see Henderson doing that. Look at Henderson summer league stats the last 2 yrs. They are not very good.
Henderson will never be an above average hitter. You can look at his swing and plate approach and tell that he is what he is, and it looks like he will hit between .275 and .310 his entire career at best. That's not bad either....we just have a guy in Robson, and possibly Armstrong as well, that have the swing and accolades to become .350 type hitters while at State. I'm not as big on Armstrong as tdawg, but I think he could potentially have a better year than Henderson.
I will give Henderson this....he may not have as high of a ceiling as Robson, but he probably is a less risky option in left field FOR THIS SEASON, bc Robson is freshman, and we basically know that Henderson is decent but will never set the world on fire.
What Will James needs to understand is that there is no right or wrong answer on who should start right now, because he nor anyone else knows if Henderson, Robson, or Armstrong would have the better overall season. He can state everything as a fact if he wants to, but he knows it's not that simple. If given enough pre conference AB's, there's no guarantee that Robson couldn't hit .375 this year or vice versa with Henderson or Armstrong. So all of the "I'm just going to state my opinion as fact because I'm a baseball genius" **** is simply more garbage from Will James.
By the way, tdawg...I know who you are and I am 100% sure that you have more baseball knowledge in your little finger than Will James does in his entire body, from your playing days. Wish you would give your baseball input more often.
