Living in TX has opened my eyes to MSU's and Mullens REAL problem

MS High School Football sucks compared to TX Football. A perfect comparison is the middle schools. My son went to Madison Middle and their football program is LIGHTYEARS behind what our current TX middle school program is like. We have 3 teams, that play a real schedule against other teams, on a REAL field with bleachers and everything. Compare that to Madison Middle.
When TX players hit high school, they are MUCH more prepared and simply MUCH better.

This whole "recruit the State" ******** has got to stop. The average player in TX is better than the Best that MS will produce and their are a shitload more of them.

That being said, UT sucks because Mac Brown is done and Manny Diaz is a joke. I thank God every day that we were able to dump that sorry sack o ****.

I Love State, I think we are doing the best with what we have. We will see what Mullen has during this half time break. If the guys come out motivated and can at least make a game of it, I will be very happy.

To the fans that showed up and have supported this team, my hats off to you. You guys are the best ****** fans on the planet! Keep up your support.

You had to move to Texas to figure that out?

Yeah, I guess I did. I didn't realize until I moved here that MS was that far behind.
Is FL the same as TX? Do they start full blown competitive tackle football at an early age at every school? ****, I haven't looked into it, because my kids are older, but for all I know the elementary schools here have football fields and teams.

They don't play ball in Elementary school here in Panama City Beach but we do have tackle leagues that start at age 5.

Tackle starts 2nd grade...Katy, TX. The thing is, there are 2 organized leagues (outside of school) here with probably close to 1000 kids in each grade K-6. then Middle school starts. My son's junior high has A, B, and C teams for 7th and 8th teams. By the time kids get to high school the coaches have to teach very few fundamentals because the kids have been playing competitively for 10 years.

I have long thought that this "most NFL players per capita" line was ********. If MS had 20 players in the league and Texas had 300, so what for us. Per capita is lipstick on a pig.

My son just got a pic with KJS. Pretty damn cool.

Jackie Sherrill doesn't live too far from me so I hear about him a lot. He is still very much involved in TX high school football so we should be tapping into his advice on how to recruit here.

One question if anyone knows for sure - who is the last pro bowler that came from a MS high school?

We may put a few guys in the NFL but it ain't like 30 years ago.

+1

I posted earlier this season that I see talented players on the highlight show ever Friday her in Austin that we could recruit... Especially in the skill positions.

Rankin County has tackle football starting at 5 years old. Hell, in the Northwest Rankin area alone, the 7-8 and 9-10 year old leagues each have 100+ kids playing each year.

Anyone know why, on a day when Mississippi State played Texas A&M in football, and Kentucky lost 40-0 to 17in' Vanderbilt, a Mississippi State board is flooded with a bunch of **** talking posts from a douchebag Kentucky fan? tia
