I'll just be glad when it is February 5th at noon so we can

stop talking about getting absurd recruits. We are not getting Humphrey. End of story.

That's an easy answer. Yes. DM would take MH and make him a SEC legend.

Anyone with half a brain that has watched Freezus the last two years, he doesn't use his weapons like he should. Plus his offense is as predictable as the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening. Let him have all he wants. The new is wearing of,f and HS players are seeing through the smoke and mirrors act he has relied on since he's been there. Their depth is horrible and all OM is worried about is how many stars a player has. Freeze would take 6 safeties a year, if they were all 4-5 Star players.

anyone that would answer that they would rather us not get a player that would make us a better team out of fear for what that guy could do for our rival is a jackass.

Seems weird that you are accusing Freeze of using his weapons wrong. I am sure everybody else is wrong and you are right, though.

And so this doesn't turn into Egg Bowl.com..

I think you are going to have a good team this year.

Mullen is a good coach.

You beat us fair and square. Congrats.

I give it ten minutes before you make a new thread on Elitedouche.com saying how terrible Sixpack is because they let Bearsharks post on here.

I do think he used Treadwell wrong. It seems like every pass he caught was a bubble screen. You would think the #1 WR recruit could stretch the fiedld a bit more. That is evident by him having 67 receptions but for only 557 yards (8.31 yards/catch).

Jameon had 64 receptions for 923 yards (14.4 yards/catch). Here is someone that was a two star out of high school with only one offer per Scout that, while half the size of Treadwell, out peformed him immensely on the field.

So you want Sixpack to be just like 34's **** message board? Gotcha...

What in the world did I say wrong in my post? I gave you three compliments and called one of the biggest MSU douches a sheep. If you're mad because I called him a name, too bad. We have plenty of **** fans too. Does that make you feel better?

Well, you are of course entitled to your opinion. I disagree. Treadwell was a freshman. Jameon is a junior and outstanding player.

I guess the coaches in the SEC agree with me about Treadwell.

I;m not saying he didn't have a good season. He did. I just said I thought he was not used correctly by Freeze. With his size and skill set he should have been able to stretch the field and make receptions and go over the top of DB's. Not catch a ball three yards behind the line and then let two other receivers block for him.

Ok. Let me see if I understand your argument. Freeze used Treadwell wrong even though "Treadwell set Ole Miss freshman records for receptions (67), reception yards (557) and touchdowns (five). He was third in the SEC in catches, and led all freshmen in all three categories. ..."

That's from the Clarion Ledger article I linked in the previous post. If you compared Treadwell to his peers (other freshman Wide Receivers) he had a great year. He led in receptions, yards, and touchdowns compared to other freshman.
Now how could he have a great year if Freeze used him wrong?

I'm not convinced you can say that Freeze used him wrong when he was the best freshman wide receiver in the league last year.

Pump the brakes dude. Your point of how you feel about Treadwell has been made.

Well, I think you want me to pump the breaks because you know his argument is **** but whatever. It's your board, brother. I won't post anything else about it.

I'm saying he could have had an even better season had he done more than catch bubble screens all game. You could pull the fat girl playing clarinet out of the band and put her on the field and she could catch that many passes in a season if that was all that was thrown to her and with people blocking down field she could probalby rack up some decent receiving yards. I am not attacking Treadwell at all. He did what was asked of him and had a successful season doing so. Good enough to get all freshman honors. I'm just saying that if Freeze had used him differently he made have had 1,000 yards receiving as a freshman.

I would like to respond but was told I can't. I'll concede the point. Treadwell sucks.

I think the way Treadwell was used may have had more to do with the fact they already had a better receiver as a deep threat and a QB who couldn't throw the ball more than 30 yards. We'll see next year. But I do agree that a WR with less than 10 yards per catch is pretty sad.

I get the point you are making, and some of it is valid. For whatever reason, we struggled throwing the ball vertically this year. But, I really doubt that Malachi Dupre is sitting around comparing YPC averages amongst SEC schools. What he sees is a fun offense to play in that throws it a lot, a coaching staff that has recruited him relentlessly, and last years #1 WR hosting him on a visit.

Guaranteed, Treadwell is in his ear about the awards he got, records broken, etc. And it intrigues him, as it would most 18 year olds. And I'm sure our staff is putting a full court press on him since he is the only recruit in town right now. They are telling him how he and Treadwell can catch a million plus balls together. That's how recruiting works.

Now, with all that said, the one thing we can all agree on is that it is a long shot at best. He will more than likely wind up at FSU or LSU. But, getting him on campus gives Ole Miss a chance, however slim that may be.

Again, I'm not really allowed to say anything in my defense so I will just go over what this dispute is again.

You and Starkvegasdog think that Freeze used Treadwell wrong.

I pointed out that he was the leader in every major category for freshman wide receivers. I pointed out that he was voted freshman of the year.

I guess I just don't understand how you could possibly have that opinion when the actual facts don't back you up. Guess I'm just dumb.

Ok. I'll see if I can put this on a level even a Ole Miss fan can understand. I hope you hunt because that is the analogy I will use.

You just bought the #1 rifle made today. A brand new Treadwell chambered in .300mag. You joined a hunting club and took it with you every day of the season and had a hell of a year. Broke the record for number of deer shot as a first year member of your hunting club by bagging 67 deer (no bag limits in this example). But here's the thing. You never shot at a deer over 100 yards away even though your rifle was more than capable of making 300 yard shots. Due to that fact, you could have shot another 40 deer but let them walk. You still have a hell of a gun that did quite well its first year out of the gate. It just wasn't used up to its potential and left a lot of venison out in the woods. It wasn't the gun's fault. It was the user's fault.

Thank you for that analogy. Now I completely understand. Freeze completely misused Treadwell something something amunition gun. Got it.

Let me ask you this..How did Freeze misuse the other freshman we have? Like Conner and Tunsil. They are obviously not living up to their potential.

I don't think Freeze used Treadwell incorrectly, I think that due to Wallace's lack of arm strength, he used him the only way he could. Treadwell only averaged 8 yards per catch whereas Lewis averaged 14 yards per catch.

Freeze couldn't run the ball between the tackles and really couldn't throw the ball down the field very well. So in order to get the ball to his better players, he ran a massive amount of bubble screens.

I think he did it out of necessity, not because he was dumb.

I'm sorry. Where in my posts did I ever mention Connor or Tunsil? I just talked about Treadwell. Kind of hard to misuse a offensive lineman unless you line him up as punter. Of course he did have a DT as a RB at times so I digress. Chris Jones showed him the error of doing that. Connor had a really good season. All three of the players you have been pitching a tent over today did. I just think one of them could have had a better season had he been used differently. I think we could have had players that could have had much better seasons had they been used differently too. Would have loved to have seen Perkins used more as a receiver out of the backfield and slot. Would have liked to have seen Shump and Robinson get more carries. Would have liked to have seen Wilson get more passes thrown his way and allow him to stretch the field on deep passes to use his size to his advantage. Doesn't mean I think any of them suck or are bad players. On the contrary, I think they are excellent players and hope next season they get used more to fulfill their potential.

Would you take a deal where a hypothetical situation that would never happen, yet make you feel uneasy in some ways, would really happen? Or would you rather have hypothetical guarantee of the other impossible hypothetical not happening at all? Hypothetically speaking, how would you REALLY feel, given that these impossible guarantees really happened?

Oh, no! Now you said it, too!

My conduct here speaks for itself. The people in charge around here seem very reasonable, so I trust that they'll weigh my behavior over one word.

I didn't go to high school in Memphis. My dad went to whitehaven. I went to a small public school in north Mississippi.

Have a good one.
