It couldn't possibly be dirt or oil deposits from doing it all season long on the same hat. Nope, definitely tar.

I mean really, have you ever played a sport? Worn a hat?

I don't really care if he was doing it or not. Most pitchers do it. But your excuses are lame. It's a brand. new. hat. Bianco needs to work with your boys on being a little more subtle about it.

I come to SPS daily, I just rarely post. I like this board more then any of the rebel boards because there's more to it then just sports. You guys post everything from politics to topics about national pride and that's awesome. I was just asking high life to take it down a notch.

And I was on the grassy knoll.

It shows a big dark spot (tar) on the bill of his hat and that pitcher touching it after almost ever pitch.

He got through several innings of his game doing it.

You're full of manure, dude. It was in the high 80s last night with typical south Louisiana humidity of probably 80-90%. What you're looking at is sweat.

If I was a pitcher for MSU or Ole Miss my entire body, uniform, hat and glove would be one continuos oily substance of filth, pine-tar, suntan lotion, grease etc.. I would grow my hair long and wouldn't wash it except right after the game and never for the rest of the week. In short I would be one disgusting pile of nastiness and I would throw the most disgusting filth you've ever seen and probably twenty wild pitches a game. Nobody including myself would have any clue where the ball is going to go. I'd have a kper9 of 16 and hit 7 batters a game. Good idea right?

No, it's not. Sweat isnt brown.

Turn it in to the NCAA. Maybe they'll take us out of the CWS because we had a pitcher throw 2 innings in a 6 run victory who MIGHT have had something on his hat bill. After all, the screen shots prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt, right?

Then, you can have them check ULL's bats, since they were clearly altered (I'm sure you could find some sort of vague video/screenshot proof, maybe a scuff of some sorts that looks out of place). Then, they'll be ineligible, and maybe the NCAA will put your team in Omaha instead.

Are you intentionally being obtuse just to see if others will follow, or are you really that bothered by us getting to Omaha that you have to find some sort of obscure excuse to make yourself feel better about it?

I can tell you this. When you were playing Virginia last year in the Super Regionals, I didn't even watch, and I certainly wasn't analyzing screen shots. Keep up the good work though. We'll store these screen shots in Khayat's desk with the PLOI.

Hell there are plenty of state fans calling him out for it being a non issue

Thank you for your help though

It's not a 'non issue'. He would have gotten tossed if the umps would have saw it. Is a corked bat a non issue? Stealing signs is a non issue to me, because there aren't rules against it.

It happens all the time. IMO it is a nonissue

I'm sure at some point we have had our fair share of pitchers do it

This brings up a good point. I've been poring over last year's MSU CWS videos and found something shocking:

View attachment 783

If you look closely at Holder's cap, right near the top, you can see a large discolored beige smudge resembling the shape of a glove. It seems Holder was pitching with a SECOND GLOVE hidden on top of his head! Just wait'll I show this to the NCAA.

That's complete speculation. You have no idea how much it happens. Then again, you are a Yankees fan. I could kind of see why it might seem like it happens all the time.

David Ortiz said himself....

....During the whole Pineda thing that he didn't think it was a big deal because everyone does it. That stuff has always been part of the game. Keep fighting the good fight though

While your "evidence" consisting of screenshots showing a smudge on a hat is desperate and highly comical, here's a pretty interesting article stating that it's fairly common and many well-known MLB pitchers did it, especially when conditions are wet and it's impossible to grip the ball. I don't really care if he was using pine tar or not, for the record.

We are going to Omaha.

You are bitching on a message board.

It is a nonissue.

It was pouring. down. rain. There was literally one circle on the entire field where there was mud, and this guy was standing on it. I'm not saying that he didn't do it. I don't care. However, there's more evidence that Deshea Townsend is the kingpin of a heroine ring than there is of this pitcher cheating.

This is stupid. I apologize for poking the proverbial bear.

Also, I'm pretty sure I've been posting here longer than hatfield. I go to two boards every day, here and nafoom. As I said, I didn't come over here to gloat. I've done that before, and I've (rightfully) been banned for it. I came over here to see how most State fans were reacting. To your credit, most took it well. There was one of you who was running around acting like a little *****, so I called him out on it. After all, there's been this dubious claim that MSU is the elite baseball program in MS, and I've had endure year after god forsaken year of "what OMAHA stands for."

I'm sorry that I'm not sorry.
