Remember, when an ad showed professionals crossing our borders illegally (lawyers, doctors, executives, etc.). The ad said these people won't care about open borders until illegal aliens come for their jobs.
Enter Samuel L. Jackson, the perfect example of this ad. They want unfettered immigration until they start losing their jobs and likely to actors for less pay.
The interesting part for me personally, is that I am all in favor of increased legal immigration of those that are highly skilled, have skills in demand and/or have capital to invest. It is called the Australian model and it works.
But that didn't stop (Samuel L. Jackson) him from sounding like an Alabama Tea Partier when he complained about how foreign workers were taking all the good American jobs. Page Six reports:
Samuel L. Jackson thinks too many black British actors are being cast in American roles.
“There are a lot of black British actors in these movies,” the actor told Hot 97 on Tuesday (via The Guardian). “I tend to wonder what ‘Get Out’ would have been like with an American brother who really feels that.”
The satirical horror film, which has grossed over $80 million since its release on Feb. 24, stars British actor Daniel Kaluuya as a young black man named Chris Washington who takes a weekend trip to the country to visit his white girlfriend’s family.
To Jackson, no matter how good of an actor Kaluuya may be, he can’t fully relate to the experiences of black Americans.
Unsurprisingly, he also didn't like how the amazingly talented David Oyelowo was cast as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma. But isn't it amazing how quickly Jackson turned on foreigners even though Hollywood just can't stop gushing about how "global" the movie industry is?
What's next? Is Jackson going to start supporting Trump's travel ban... as long as England's on the list?
