Look like FSU may be pitching their usual Sunday guy against UAB...

or at least that's what their rivals site is saying. The pitcher would be Scott Sitz who is 3-3 with a 4.14 ERA.

We dont really have a Sunday starter. Sitz can go about 4-5 innings and he starts well but doesnt have an out pitch and has trouble keeping the ball in the ballpark.

We have a combined set of pitchers to get the ball to our closer Robert Benincasa who is "lights out". It will be interesting to see what we have to do if we get sent to the Losers Bracket

Yep. It how been announced. #3 on Friday, #1 on Sat., and #2 on Sunday. Nothing out of the ordinary; I can't remember a time when we have been the #1 seed and didn't start our #3 vs. the #4 seed. There has only been one year that we lost the opener and it was to Army and it wouldn't have mattered if we would have thrown our ace, their ace only gave up one run. Actually worked out better that we didn't, we came back with our ace, #1, and #4 and won the whole tournament.

If FSU has any chance to win this regional, it'll either be your hitting or our pitchers being abnormally bad (not gonna happen).

Coach is correct, from the Sun Herald: http://www.sunherald.com/2012/05/29/3975896/holder-emerges-one-of-top-closers.html

ETA: should have included the "meat" of the article...

"Holder, a 6-foot-2, 247-pound hard-throwing right-hander, has been nearly untouchable this season using a fast ball that's topped out at 94 mph along with a curve ball and a circle changeup.

In 23 games, Holder has a 0.00 ERA and a team-leading nine saves.</p>

Holder has worked 27 1/3 innings and allowed 14 hits while striking out 28 and walking rive. Opponents are hitting .154. Holder has set a school record for consecutive scoreless innings (27 1/3). The old record was set in 1988 by former Long Beach star Bobby Reed (25 1/3)."</p><div style="font: 10pt/normal sans-serif; width: 1px; height: 1px; text-align: left; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-transform: none; overflow: hidden; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;">

I'm still not thrilled about pitching Stratton Friday, but if FSU loses Game 1, Cohen's going to look like a genius for doing it.
