I know Vandy and Tennessee are rivals, but they are playing scrappy, tough basketball. We don't (and have never) play well into Tennessee's style. They are built to defend jump shooting teams and I don't think we are patient, skilled, or coached well enough to play them well, especially down the stretch. Sidney better tighten his jock strap cause they are gonna take it right at him all night. They gave us all we could handle in 2009. <div>
</div><div>I'm not a Stansbury fan (and I certainly don't want to start another poo slinging thread), but I am hoping to see us do well enough to maybe catch an NIT invite. If we can win out (highly doubt that will happen, but wouldn't be surprised) and catch a win our two in the SECT, we might see some post season action. Not trying to start any ****, just making an observation. </div>

Stansbury has an awful record vs Pearl and I think his only win was in the SEC championship game but I'm too lazy to look it up. Tennessee is an awful 3 point team though so if we get really hot from 3 it might just make up for the huge rebounding/fast break/turnover/points in the paint margin they are going to have on us. We need to make 15 3's though and that ain't happening!! UT 85 MSU 62

NCAA. We'll know more today, but the skuttlebutt says Vol basketball gets hammered. They took a while to adjust to the stress of Pearl's absence early in the conference schedule, and this will just be more to pile on. If they had lost last night, I'd really like the chances of a collapse, but depending on the severity, they could use it as another rallying point.

Simply noticing we are going to have a very hard time keeping Tennessee's speed out of the paint. Vanderbilt got fatigued down the stretch and Tennessee took all out advantage of them (and Vandy is a better team than we are) by beating defenders off the screen. It is going to take a lot of discipline on defense to keep them in check and I don't know if we have that or not.
