I'm hearing that we are working out the details as we speak. We want him and he wants us. Unless one side gets cold feet or we can't reach middle ground with the contract specifics, he will be the guy. One potential issue is that he likes the NFL. If an NFL team calls before everything is finalized, things could change. I also don't know financially what we are offering or what he is requesting.
I never said Shaka was going to be our coach- and when his agent told Strick 3MM- that ended any further talks.

The splash that will make in recruiting immediately could be almost monumental honestly....
Can you imagine Dan walking in with his 2 National Championship rings on and Townsend with his 2 Super Bowl rings on, that would be a hard sale not to buy into.

Townsend has indeed talked to Conner and Conner has now gone from a final 2 to a final 3 schools
if Townsend joins the staff, expect to see major upswing in the recruitment of the following major national recruits: Conner, Jalen Ramsey, Alexander twins. just think what that defense would look like with those guys playing on the field together at one time?!
South Panola safety Antonio Conner, one of the top recruits in the country, said he knows Townsend “pretty well,” adding that if Townsend is hired at MSU it could affect his recruitment. “It would make a huge impact,” Conner said. “He has been there (to the NFL) and he knows what it is like and knows what it takes. im honestly jealous of TSUNBearhunter if he is hired. Since him and Towmsend are big friends, he can get awesome seats at Davis Wade on gameday without even paying in to the bulldog club.
