Looking over the depth chart and Kyle Rose is my star pick

The defense is going to be nasty and Kyle Rose is the focal point if you think about what we need to build around. We have the defensive backs and linebackers but if we're not at least solid on the line it won't matter. Kyle has grown into a fireplug that can hold down the middle and make it easier on everyone else.

We also need a pass rush and Larry Jefferson is the one I'm watching.

When he ran into trouble earlier this year I was really concerned for the team. He's a guy the defense needs to lean on and they need his wide body and experience on that defense. Players like Rose aren't talked about a lot because it's not a flashy position but it's one of the more important positions on the team.

We have the talent and depth to be nasty but we're going to give up point in the Big 12. If Tony Gibson can get them top play to their potential I'm saying a top 5 WVU defense over the last 20 years.

Yep agree...in this hybrid sort of system Gibby is running now, it still puts tons of pressure up the middle on our NT...Kyle's value will be huge this year imo...

I'm impressed with his growth as a player and hope he can put that incident behind him. If he can man the middle it will take a lot of pressure off of our other players.

I've previously mentioned Rose's importance to this team and I believe, like the coaches, that he is a key to a very successful season. Also your mention of Jefferson is solid as well. Larry could give us a threat on the outside and if he delivers it takes pressure off of the defensive backs.

That's why I'm so excited about this upcoming season....Mine is Karl Joseph and second would be Dravon Henry.

With this years defensive unit there are many to choose from. I think this years defense has a shot at being one of if not the best defenses ever at WVU...( considering the competition WVU will face this year)

WVU's defense in 2015 will be good enough for six wins alone if it stays healthy. If the O-line comes together and Howard plays like he is capable WVU will again be in position to win the Big12 in November like they were last season.
