Looks like Michael Sam's NFL career may be over.

Nobody claimed him off of waivers and the Rams didn't sign him to the practice squad.

Case of the dubmass

Welcome to Tebow's world. No team wants to be under the media microscope because of one player.

Didn't Rebelbruiser say something to the extent of Goodell preventing this from happening and forcing him onto a roster this year? Seems like there was something totally off the wall like that...

I think he was just as much to blame as ESPN, and I certainly don't mean to stick up for ESPN here as they are evil. But HE signed on to do a show for Oprah and HE allowed a film crew in his living room for the draft for "documentation"... And while I don't think he should have to curb who he is in front of a camera because there are bigots out there rooting for him to fail, but HE made out with his boyfriend on national television knowing that everyone was wanting that to happen so they could blow it out of proportion.

He's not the last gay player who will get drafted, and he has now written the book of things not to do, making it much easier for the next guy.

Well he`s damn sure not the first gay player to get drafted. He`s just the dumbest gay player ever drafted.

Exactly. HE's the one who chose to make his sexual orientation an issue. If he'd just announced he was gay and then gone about his business getting ready for the combine, hiring an agent, etc., he was probably good enough to at least make a practice squad somewhere. But no team wants to deal with that kind of distraction for a marginal player.

No one wants to the spectacle except Jerry Jones. All other 31 teams actively try not to have off the field celebrity. Is it fair that Michael Sam became a household name? Probably not. I don't know how much he could have done to not become one while still announcing he was gay. But he certainly didn't back up what he kept saying over and over about how he just wanted to play football.

I think he wanted to be a celebrity, and he saw football and being gay as his platform. On top of that, ESPN sucks.

Kind of surprised. I don't have any inside knowledge, but the talking heads seemed to think his odds of at least making the practice squad were very high a week ago. I wonder what changed.

Look up the definition of the word "bigot"

There is a rumor going around that

During shower time he would always get this weird grin and then one day he got a semi and decided to bro hug everyone. Needless to say, that didn't go over well with the players' wives.

He also had a penchant for bringing in baked goods for the team before games and critiquing everyone's post game apparel choices.

For some reason, Michael Sam was invited to be at Monday night Raw (WWE) next Monday night. Not sure of the angle.
