I pick today at 2:40 (rank 1138 and there's maybe 60 or 70 seats in levels 100 and 200 as of this morning. They are all on the ends.
Looks like Scott is going to be close to being right.

About 175 left in 117 and 125 combined. Those are the two on the ends. Another 19 single seats and one pair scattered throughout the other sections.
That means there's been almost none picked up.
Given the buy-in requirement, I'd guess that means they're going to have close to a 10% surplus when all is said and done. From a supply/demand perspective, this means they (probably unintentionally given Scott's prediction) did really well maximizing profit. Almost 10% of their seat holders left, but they increased section-driven revenue by over $100k.
It's also a very important piece of information when it comes to our fanbase's current capacity for premium seating and pricing.

Not me. No shade, and very little window space for the air-conditioned area. I wouldn't pay half of what they're asking until there's a roof overhead. Then again, I'm already a family guy. If I was a young whippersnapper looking to start moving up the BC ranks, maybe.

Disagree. There's going to be alot of window space...
Also, let's not forget that most of the designs show them setting up tents similar to tailgates down both sides of the concourse up there...
To me, the cold would be a bigger concern than heat up there. But I suppose being a premium area, there's nothing stopping them from putting space heaters under tailgate tents up there as well...
Bottom line to me is -- as I said yesterday -- I expect people to spend minimal time in their actual seats up there. Too much cool stuff happening elsewhere -- where they can still enjoy the game...

The tents will definitely be an attraction, but you're pretty much ruling out old folks and families with small kids, and that's a decent chunk of the demographic that has populated the original CL since 2001. Pretty much the scoreboard club is a bullseye if you're young and/or don't have young dependents.

Exact reason I went there. No blue hairs and no kids. No trash either. Just 30yr olds getting blasted and no "sit down" crew.

I just picked. Absolutely painless and very easy and I got what I wanted. By my count there are 14 in 200s and about 40 in 100s. Section 4 looks about the same.

the 100s and 200s should be pretty much exhausted by about the 1200 rank mark. It will be very interesting to see if the Scoreboard Club and East CL pick up afterwards, or if we continue to see only a few seats picked in either area. My guess is the former ends up with around 100 empties, and the latter with about what it has now. Would love to be way off and have both come close to selling out.

I had only sat in the corner of the endzone before at bowl games until the Gator Bowl and hated it. At the Gator Bowl, I was straight above the M in Michigan. I thought it was a great seat if you go to actually watch the game because as you said, you can see the play develop and almost tell what is going to happen before it does. I can understand that it isn't for everybody but I really liked that view in the Gator and these seats will be better.

You are looking at a rendering that was put out the day the stadium was first unveiled. Final designs have changed pretty significantly since then. I'm pretty sure I've seen updated renderings showing the sections I highlighted as glassed in -- and in reality, why wouldn't they be? Not 100% on that -- but it's how I have it in my head. We'll know I am wrong if they go any higher with the brick in the livecam...

You're probably just thinking of the loge seating/skybox lounge renderings, which do show all glass (and is visible in that pic). Upon further inspection, I'm not sure the areas we're talking about are even part of the Scoreboard Club lounge:
It's hard to tell from some angles and pics, but it appears the lounge itself only takes up as much width as the seating area. That will limit glass areas for viewing to the sides of the doors and the corner areas.
Besides that, as the East CL filled up, State went to a lot of trouble to make it difficult for people to lounge around the glass areas. It's another reason I was glad to move out of there.
Anyway, if it's done right the outside will indeed turn into a cool place to watch the game...I know the details will never match, but I would love for a LFL-light party atmosphere to pop up.

Yes, they brought those in around '08, IIRC. That was the first time the section reached max occupancy. They left the middle glass section free, though. After the new inside seats sold out and folks started to congregate in the remaining glass area, they began moving food tables up next to the windows to try and stop people from standing there. At some point they'd also removed the chairs from the inside tables so that people would stop sitting at them for the entire game. It was all part of a long term slide in quality of experience while prices increased.

I really don't think that would be a good view even if they did sell seats. Now I do think they could sell 1 row of chairbacks along the railing and I would think those would be awesome. Let people congregate behind if they want.

This one shows what I'm questioning... Looks like they are going to brick it up and turn it into a bit of a dungeon look so to speak...
I feel like this was a missed opportunity... Should have made the "Scoreboard Club" wider and longer -- bringing that concrete wall closer to the front of the concourse -- and glassing in the front of it. Essentially making that entire level the "Scoreboard Club".
For almost no extra build expense, it would have added a couple hundred more club "seats" and brought ~ an extra $250k/yr...assuming we could have sold them all. Actually, that would probably have helped sell the section if people felt they would have an opportunity to actually be able to watch the game from indoors...
The eventual plan is for the space on either side of the SBC to be used for additional skyboxes. The endzone was designed for 22 more skyboxes and the structure will support and upper deck above those skyboxes. The sky boxes can be built during a single off season. I would suspect that we will see that addition in the very near future.
Maybe, but seems like putting a Club Level on the West Side where the 100s and 200s currently are (and maybe extending the length to the ends) would be the next expansion. Also not sure it'll be the "near future" for either. But who knows?
