The NC High School sports world is mourning the loss of a great coach. Coach Barry Hall passed away last night after a breif sickness. He coached East Surry baseball for 40 years. Over 1000 wins, numerous conference championships, numerous state playoff victories, three western regional championships and three state championship runner up. More importantly than all the wins was he was a class act, ran a class program but was an even greater man. He will be missed by former players, students and Cardinal faithful. Please be in prayer for his family. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

A tremendous coach, an excellent AD, and an even better man. I know this is a football board, but Barry Hall had the respect of everyone in the NW1A and around the state of NC. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the entire East Surry community.
Coach Hall was a great baseball Coach and AD. See attached WSJ article, didn’t know he had coached basketball and volleyball also.
He will be missed in the East Surry Community.
