That was our best recruit of the class. This one is going to hurt badly. Maybe not next year, but 2023/24 this player will be sorely missed.

Wow with both of his parent went to OU. He was one that we needed to keep. 2022 class is going downhill fast

Holy crap how or why would this happen? Don’t tell me he liked Grinch’s attitude but not a fan of a Venables? I figured we’d lose some weenie offensive recruits but didn’t see this loss coming

He and his family were extremely tight w/ Thibideaux. He's gone now too. Dindy's father recently got a job in Bryan as a Pastor.

Damn where did Thibideaux go? Was he let go by Venables today? I was thinking he was still on board this morning.

So Thib, Cain, Manning, and Grinch are all gone. That leaves Odoms as the only Defensive coach left that the players know. Of course, Bob and Brent are there but not looking good for the bowl game.

Don’t understand Thib’s being let go. I think Cain panicked. I think he would have been retained.

New blood never hurts especially when the Program was trending down with the Muleshoe Mediocrity. And I believe it was only going to get worse.
If I were a Coach on the previous Defensive Coaching Staff I would be embarrassed to look Brent in the eye and ask if I could stay.

what was once a top 10 class is now at 29
29th nationally, and would currently be 11th in the SEC if OU had already changed conferences. Work remains to be done; hopefully that number can improve. It's not really fair to Venables to label this as his recruiting class with such a short time remaining before early signing day. Maybe a better gauge is to track the 2023 class to see how that fills out.

it's still the early signing period, Hopefully, BV and his new staff and pull the best of what doesn't sign and get a solid group in February on the real signing date. Plus that and whats in the portal.

Thibideaux leaving has been announced, has it? I saw where USC hired Tulsa's Oline coach so I guess that means Bedenbaugh is staying.

Yes. There are '0' defensive coaches left standing. Thibs is gone.
Cale, Bedenbaugh, Joe John, & DeMarco are the only coaches remaining.

I trust Venerables. If he let Thibs go then I am sure he has a reason for it. Who knows he may already have the guys he wants lined up to come to Norman to fill out his staff.

For those that are wondering I did scroll down to find this thread. A@M did lose their head coach as he is heading to Duke. Will he flip back to OU? Lets hope.

Looks like we are heading north. Now ranked 10th.
Dang seriously? I guess it’s a small class with some higher ranked players? That’s great, if Lebby/Venables show some results which I’m confident they will, the recruiting will take care of itself

Who knew the NIL would grow tentacle’s and contribute to the parent’s pocket book as well

Some BS title. Director of christian studies or something like that. But they already gave Dad the job when he originally committed to OU.

Oops. With Gibson committing we are now ranked 9th. We are going to be OK. As Bob Stoops said after Riley left, "just a little bump in the road".
