1. Does not protect Florida's advantage;
2. Adds zilch to TV market share (although FSU has somewhat of a national following);
3. Moves FSU out of dominant position in weak conference;
4. Does not protect Florida's advantage;
5. Does not protect Florida's advantage;

For the SEC to expand they will have to have a "handshake" agreement with the TV gods that will make the TV deal even better.... And if ESPN can "encourage" who that 14th member may be....<div>
</div><div>As to who that 14th Member is, I have no clue, but assuming its not OU, what other team adds tv market and area? FSU at least adds the national following and a "name"</div>

They don't expand the SEC into a new market, but they make the SEC dominant in the huge Florida market and they're a big national name.

..even worse than the University of Mississippi.

FSU is a trash school that would sully the SEC by its mere presence.

I would hate to see FSU join the SEC. It would be a disaster on many levels.

sure USCe may be upset but solid school. Great baseball program with a SEC feel to college football.They'll be able to compete more in basketball.

I don't think the Florida issue is as bad as it would be for other teams in other states because the Florida legislature already mandates that Florida play FSU and Miami. So it's not a situation where they can ignore FSU. I still bet they would be against them joining the SEC though.

My vote is for Va. Tech.

And they've played FSU every year since 1958. So I'm not exactly buying your Florida legislature madate theory.

just what I was told. But hey, if you are going to play Florida State every year then why toss a fit about them being in the conference? Then again, it probably helps to run around talent-rich Florida as the only SEC team.

in that state. Doesn't really help either MS school as the conference already has a presence there and we can recruit against fsu successfully because they play in acc. Oklahoma isn't coming so that cuts down on possibilities for a 14th. FSU > Va. Tech, Clemson, Missouri (they aren't even in the south).
