If this isn't the loudest game in memorial stadium history I'm gunna be pissed at all of you. I'll be there doing my part in the south stadium. Wherever you're sitting, whether that be at the very top of the east stadium or underneath the balcony in the west stadium, if people around you aren't screaming, punch them with words of anger. Let's make Hornytoad go deaf. GBR!

And if Wisconsin scores right away and Lee throws a pick, the crowd will be quiet.

Hopefully the Huskers come out fired up and score and give the crowd a reason to stay fired up the whole game.

Even is Wiscy does score right away, the crowd needs to stay loud!

That was loud but the loudest I ever remember was the year that Washington came in highly ranked and IF I remember correctly beat us at home. Can't remember the name of the stud pro-style QB they had but I think he played in the NFL for several years. The old west stadium concrete was shaking under my feet I think.

I wasn't there for Stuntz to Crouch but have heard this was the loudest moment ever.
Nah don't think so. That Colorado game was loud at the end. It was loud for the Stuntz play. That Washington game was like that from start to finish when UW was on offense.

Colorado 1992 was as loud as any. Sitting in the north stadium the crowd was so loud consistently we never heard the band play all night after the Star Spangled Banner!

the stadium shook after this play:

It started snowing about that same time too. i thought that was louder than stuntz to crouch.

You are absolutely right... it was crazy loud and the stadium did shake. Loudest I’ve experienced, but my experience is limited. Lot of games mentioned that I didn’t go to and can’t compare this game moment to...

I went to the 2014 Miami game and that crowd was NASTY the entire game. That was the funnest game i've ever been to live.
Hail mary vs Northwestern was pretty loud.
2008 colorado always comes up in my mind from the college days.

Mind you, it was a few weeks before Stuntz to Crouch, but Eric said the 2001 ND game was the loudest he'd ever heard. And it wasn't just for one play. The stadium roared that night.

The Huskers got out to a quick lead. My buddy and I ended up 4 rows down from where we were in South stadium after the 2nd early score. That was one of the most fun games I remember. No games are close to that anymore, because too many people choose to be miserable and question every single thing coaches do.

Take a quick look at the linked story. In hindsight it foretells the talent/coaching doom coming later that season - 62-36. It hasn't been the same since. But man was that night game loud.

Has nothing to do with state of the program...
Maybe if we would have had a play to beat mighty NIU some fans would have been able to go crazy and it coulda been one of the loudest moments ever. :D

Haven't been back since hearing that same bitching and moaning during the Callahan era. Don't miss it. Back in the day, it was a constant roar and the grey hairs on their radios, who we would ***** about, because they weren't loud enough. Complete cohesion and a need for noise. GBR

Nebraska benefited in that game from being the 3rd game for us, 1st for the Irish. If I remember right, one of our tight ends had an obvious false start on a big 3rd down conversion on that 1st drive that was not called. Getting up early was huge.

1991. Nebraska had a 21-9 lead going into the 3rd quarter. Lost 36-21. My biggest memory is some a-hole in the north stadium about 5 rows back yelling at me to sit down the entire game. They had Billie Jo Hobert and Mark Brunell, but Hobert played the most if not all that game. I know it was loud as hell until sometime in the 4th.

I'll say it might have been the most insanely crazy 30-60 seconds for any game I've been to.

For all of us F****** who stayed, the Ohio State game in 2011 is the loudest most recent game, but obviously it wasn't loud in the first half.

I can't believe this game happened almost 25 years ago. I couldn't get tickets to it, so stayed in Omaha and went to the 18th Amendment with a buddy from Colorado and his Iowan girlfriend who hated Nebraska. Needless to say it was probably the most fun I've ever had watching a game in a bar. Laughing

It will be loud...no doubt about it. Husker fans are the best around, especially on gameday. It's contagious.

Not to be confused with accepting mediocrity.

Thanks for clearing that up. Luckily Jason Peter will be hauling around the coaches trophy tomorrow to tell people just that. The 90s are coming back!

The Colorado game was loud as was the Notre Dame game, but I seem to recall a game, maybe in the mid 90s, when K-State was in town and one of their whiny QBs kept backing away from the center and complaining to the refs about the crowd noise, there may have even been a penalty assessed on the husker defense because of the noise, but when he went back under center to finally take the snap, the noise was deafening. That might have been as loud as I have heard it in the stadium, at least where I was.

I was at all of the games you guys are referencing. None of them were as loud as Oklahoma in 1978.

Was at all of the affore mentioned games. The loudest from start to finish was 92 Colorado! Hands down!

I can't vouch for 78 OU game but I agree, and this is real, as I was at all those games too.

You have to remember all the vitriol and hate from McCartney era. Scum. Colorado fans are the worst.

That was payback and it was a beeattch. GBR

P.S. Our fans cheering Udub off the field brought tears to my eyes as a youngster. Best fans in America right there, and Washington went on to win the National Title

Seems like all the recent night games were crazy loud. No one has mentioned 2012 Wisconsin or 2014 Miami yet, both rockin.

I would say my favorite games I attended were probably: 01 Oklahoma and 94 Colorado
I would say the loudest were probably 09 Oklahoma and 14 Miami
Loudest before kickoff was 10 Texas, but that went downhill....

The loudest moments for me was the Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass, the Alex Henery 56 year field goal/Suh's Pick Six, and Westercamp's Hail Mary Catch. The 2000 Colorado game where it looked like we were going to lose but made a few big plays late to Bobby Newcombe and got a FG to win.

The 1995 K-State game was great but I don't remember it being so Loud in the same vein as the others. Farley, Wistrom, and Tomich were teeing off on their QB. One time Farley literally did a WWF clothesline to the QB almost knocking his head off.. he wasn't quite the same after that. The atmosphere for 2009 OU was great but it wasn't a deafeningly loud game the whole way through.
