Maybe Bama. They have the ball control to bludgeon Louisville. That's the only way to beat them. You have to keep Jackson and company off the field.

They only have two real challenges left. And they are HUGE challenges. Houston and Clemson. What UL has to guard against is being their own worst enemy. They rised up when they had a chip on their shoulder. Now that UL and Lamar are the current media flavor of the month, how will they react? When you spend too much time patting yourself on the back, history says someone will come along and humble you real quick.

Remember when we had fans pulling for UL to keep the title in state for basketball ? We need to hope they bring a football title home to Kentucky , don't we ?

As a Louisville fan I think you are spot on. Just about anybody can come up and beat you in college football if you read too many of your own press clippings.

Like I said, you guys can talk all the nonsense you want in September...I'm on record again if Bama or OSU plays UL in the playoff (assuming all get there) there will be no "beating like a drum" of Alabama or OSU.

I guess you haven't seen the Alabama Ole Miss score yet.

They are a gimmicky team that will be figured out. Unfortunately this is one of the most down years in many years. They picked a good time to be decent. In a regular season a gimmicky team doesn't make the championship series.

Is it possible the hookering has extended to the Louisville football team as well and has caused recruits to come to da Ville to play football?

Bad take Lecter. Having the best dual threat QB in America is not a gimmick its called talent.

It's real simple folks Tommy J and Sneaky P have figured it out.

Turtleneck long ago accepted that if you want to be competitive you need to accept some baggage.

Sneaky P figured out that you can be C average everywhere but the QB, and that you need natural speed and athleticism over star ratings, size, and strength.

That's all it takes folks to get to an orange bowl and now be in a play off hunt.

Abandon your morals
Find a QB
Find some speed

Definitely best offense in the nation. Not even close. To back up that offense with a very good defense is deadly.

Best team in the country right now, IMO. And if they stay healthy, an actual contender for the title.

They're dam good regardless if they win the NC or not. We should be so fortunate regardless of the reasons.

Louisville has a mighty good football team. Solid argument for one of the top three slots.
Dismantling FSU is a huge accomplishment. IF they continue to play this way on both sides of the ball, they could run the table.
As of tonight, Alabama could give them a run. By years end....dunno. too many variables, such as injury or anything college kids go thru, that can happen.
As of tonight though, Petrino has a top notch football team.

Actually, yes I'm rooting for them. Not because of any nonsense like bringing a title to Kentucky. I'm rooting for them, because if they are in the football playoff, that might be the one thing that turns up the heat so much it forces the powers that be to quit ignoring Mitch's incompetence and get some people in here who are serious - and more important, capable - of making real change.

It's one thing to be UL's whipping boy once a year. But if we are constantly getting drubbed by them AND they elevate to a national program, surely that will be enough to bring about some action. If not, nothing ever will.

They are a darned good team with a chance of making the play-off. IMO, their game at Clemson could be their downfall. Personally, I'm hoping the run the table. Maybe then UK's administration will get enough heat to commit to winning Football.

I'll take the heat on this one...but UL as an entire athletic program (and their fanbase) lowered their morals alot more by the players as well as taking on Petrino.

- Petrino..is what he is. His worst flaw was the fling with the chick but giving her a job was mis-use of funds.
- Star DE....Devonte Fields. This thug punched his girlfriend and threatened her with a gun and was booted from TCU.
- Clemons...booted by UGA with heavy rumors of drugs.
- Shag Wiggins...transfered from UGA and while no legal actions...he looked like a non coachable act...
- James Hearns commits to UK but can't get cleared due to grades...but he magically ends up at UL

I'm sorry but even if UL wins a title...I'd rather not have this kind of mess that UL allows in their program. Petrino...I could argue either way. But a person like Fields is just too much. That program is a nightmare of human beings. Good for them and stinks to be a UK fan. But morally UL is alot lower than just Petrino and fans can root for them and act like "its just a game/team" and then go on with their self like it is not a moral issue to have a program like they do. But UL is a total joke when it comes to human beings.

Louisville has the rep of second chance U. Sometimes a kid....or coach...gets that chance and makes good. Sometimes not. Calculated gamble from administration and coaches. Also a choice...same as going heavily on JUCO players like Mississippi State does.
Not the choice UK has made. So far.

Could change.

Briles is looming.

This is totally false and just sour grapes on your part. Fields did not threaten with a gun and the girlfriend ended up admitting she was just mad at him and wanted to get him in trouble. He has been nothing but good since he's been here. Harvey Clemons and Wiggins followed Grantham from Georgia and tell me how many college football players mess with weed?

To call the program a nightmare of human beings goes beyond the pale for any fanbase. How you can sit there an judge the human condition of the people who make up the UofL football program and not consider your own words is unbelievable. I understand not liking your rival. As a Cards fan I don't like UK's dominance in the basketball series but I would never call the program or the players human debris which is what you're doing. Your fellow UK fans should totally admonish your hateful remarks.

we may only win 2 games but we don't have a coach who has NCAA crawling on him. I will take honor over a person who has a history of scandal and NCAA violations

Louisville will have played a good schedule and will be deserving of the college football playoff with wins over FSU and possibly Clemson and Houston.

I don't think they beat Clemson but if they do, I think they will be in the semis.

Probably their best chance at a title since 2006 when they were an offsides penalty away from going undefeated and being in the title game.

UL has nearly beaten Clemson twice. Clemson has not looked great this year and UL just destroyed FSU. I'm picking UL to win the Atlantic now which happens to be the toughest division in the country...

Be careful all, if you say anything positive (objectively) about UofL (especially out of frustration your team/program is getting out-classed in every category by them), you will be labeled "a Troll," "not a true UK fan," and be told to just go join Card Nation.
