Outscored 10-0 in OT. TH the only offense from the start of the 4th quarter.
Poor FT shooting devil finally came to collect his due I'm quite sure a Shaquille O'Neal (whose was dominant over at least 95% of the players he played against) was a bad FT shooter too comment excuse will be used again.Absolutely blew this game! IN straight stunk and CB keeps her in the freaking game, smh!!
This is on COACHING. Happens every year!!Yet another long scoreless stretch from a team that struggles to have a consistent offensive identity
This is very true. Been saying this for the longest. Certain posters on this board get upset when you speak the truth about CBs Coaching. Same ole, EVERY YEAR!!So you are up 66-63 with roughly 12 seconds left in regulation, and you lose 76-66 in OT? Absolutey pathetic. If Kate Harpring hadn’t somehow bought in I’d be on the “CB Out” train. This is the same crap every year. Doesn’t matter the talent level or roster makeup, it’s rinse, wash, repeat — and that’s on CB.
Very difficult to lose this game & here we are. Nivar knew the second FT was way short. They (3 players) jumped the rebounder leaving 2 people to guard 3! Kelly should have never given the ball back. She had the entire back court to dribble around until fouled & she is a superior FT shooter compared to Nivar. Nivar wanted no part of those FT attempts. Pull your entire team off the line, keep 3 at half/ 3/4 court, other 1 in lane! Make rebounder pass the ball full length of court with Nivar shadowing. They had no timeouts! Instead you put 2 on the line, effectively removing them from defensive position. Middle school coaching gets middle school results. So you are up 66-63 with roughly 12 seconds left in regulation, and you lose 76-66 in OT? Absolutey pathetic. The coaching honestly leaves much to be desiredVery difficult to lose this game & here we are. Nivar knew the second FT was way short. CB coaches tight and it carries over to the court- she seems to not command executionOutscored 10-0 in OT. TH the only offense from the start of the 4th quarter.
How much talent does CB need? She brings in talent every year.So you are up 66-63 with roughly 12 seconds left in regulation, and you lose 76-66 in OT? Absolutey pathetic. I like Coach and am thankful for what she’s done with recruiting but I couldn’t agree more. The lack of offensive sets and just standing there on the sidelines in silence while the team stalls and throws the ball away possession after possession is getting really old. We’ve seen it in games against top competition every season so far. It sure doesn’t feel like we have someone coaching offense on this team but if we do maybe the football team isn’t the only one that needs a change in that department. This is very true. Been saying this for the longest. Certain posters on this board get upset when you speak the truth about CBs Coaching. Same ole, EVERY YEAR!!
It certainly doesn't look that way. She doesn't have the coaching chops to consistently win high level, high pressure games. We've probably reached our ceiling under her.CB is NOT gonna take UNC to the next level.
The problem is with the COACHING. We have the talent... CB is an above average recruiter. I will leave it at that.Someone who knows more, and pays closer attention can surely correct me, but I don't see much change in the way the team, or program is headed. It looks like we just need vastly superior talent to win key games. It doesn't look like it is happening any time soon, in spite of Nyla Brooks, Kate Harpring, etc. At some point we have to break through with wins over supposed better teams to get to another level and try to stay there. And this is not peculiar to women's basketball, it's any sport at UNC we pull for. I'm losing hope that CB is the person to do that.
Almost unbelievable, from fringe AA to not playable. We hear about injury but I don’t see the injury? Bad knees? Tendinitis? I will say she is our best ball handler & should have been shooting the FTs.I'm not saying she should play but RK should be getting minimum minutes. We will continue to struggle and lose with her getting 20+ min. Yes she is a tough player but she should not be playing starter min. I said it many games ago, she is playing REALLY bad and I know CB loves her but that doesn't mean ISH, 0-7 today, 0-8 vs Tx, 0-3 vs Columbia, 3-7 vs K-St, 1-8 SD, 1-2 vs UNCG, not going any further. She doesn't start on ANY ranked team but UNC for CB. I love CB but this is not how you coach on a higher level
I 100% agree! Way too “friendly” with her team. Geno is Geno because he expects greatness on every play & will not accept mediocrity (and will publicly let everyone know where you stand).CB coaches tight and it carries over to the court- she seems to not command execution
You just described her good friend Mack Brown. The problem is with the COACHING. We have the talent... CB is an above average recruiter. I will leave it at that.
Thank you. She touched it, it bounced inbounds, and then clock shouldn’t stop until it bounces out of bounds. That should have been a second off clock at least. Final foul was with 0.4 left…No way only .3 seconds went off when the ball bounces after being touched and then hits in the seats. The clock didn't start on time.
Rinse and repeat! Getting old!Nivar is gonna regret those free throw misses for a while, but the bigger problem is our offense. It has so little flow to it. I like Coach B, but poor offenses has been her calling card at UNC so far. Great recruiter, great defensive coach, really suspect offenses with too many out of control drives to the basket. Another year with not enough shooters on the team.
Was thinking the same thing. You just described her good friend Mack Brown.
False choice: both failures cost us the game. If either Grant caught the inbound and was fouled, Nivar made 1 of 2 (or Henderson made 1 of 2) we would have won, all things equal. In fact, take your pick, any failure in this game that took at least 1 point off the board cost us this game.Well, I was taught if the ball hits you in the hands, then it is catchable. LG had the ball in her hands and somehow, she fumbled it. That play did not cost us the game; it was the Free Throw shooting which we had all talked about before the season started that this team most improve their free throw shooting as a team. CB should have had her best free throw shooters in the game during that time. IN should not have been in there. The blame falls on CB and coaching staff for not knowing who your best free throw shooters are and having them in the last 10 seconds of the game.
