I think offensively it is a combination of both the players and coaches. There were a few times we our players were trying to do one on one instead of moving the ball around for a better shot. IN, EA, and LG did this a few times throughout the game. They were taking bad shots at the wrong time. There were times they should have went inside to NH and CT. Their shots were a high percentage shots. NH was killing them in the first quarter in the inside and CB took her out which I did not understand why. CB needs to come clean and take some of the blame because she is the head coach and she could have solved that problem by seating those 3 players on a bench for a whole quarter in order for them to get the message. Dean and Roy were good at this. Do yall recall the blue team?

How is our FT shooting still killing us after all these years. It’s mind boggling that we are horrid at shooting them. Need to dedicate a practice to shooting 1 and 1 and if miss, run (suicides) and then the person that missed that 1 and 1 comes right back up to the line (rotate around the horn). What our coach did (he played under Bones at WF). The players that were just OK got better at hitting them in games. Bad thing was this wasn’t our normal run at the end of practice either.

I think it was a terrible decision not to start T Henderson in OT.

As for free throw practice I agree with AlWoodfor2.

Time to do something different on FT's. It cannot hurt.

In clutch situations it make a difference who gets sent to the line.

I think Lanie, Reniya, Ciera, Elina Nyla Harris and maybe Taliyah would be my first picks.

I did not have a problem with personnel on the court the last two possessions. I think you needed a better person to potentially give it back to the inbounder. We tried to get the ball into Lanie (best FT shooter on the team). It was not a great pass, but a play that has to be made late in the game. We got the ball into our 2nd best FT shooter Reniya the other other time with 7 seconds left (still not sure how just .3 seconds went on the clock on both deflections prior) and for some reason threw the ball back to a 50% shooter?

As far as late game:
-Lanie 82%
-Reniya 86% FR & SO
-Elina 80%
-Harris 75%
-Toomey 74%

would be my 5.

You can't have Taliyah (44%) or Indya (55%) in the game when the other team is going to foul and put you on the line. Or Brooks (28%) for that matter. Those 3 players alone account for 37 of the 60 misses from the line as a team through 12 games this year.

Great info but I think we were talking about starting overtime/OT.

I was not talking about the 10.4 second inbounds play in regulation.

I agree with that play with 10.4 second left in regulation

Lanie just did not catch the ball on the inbounds play. It was a good play.

On the inbounds play to Reniya with 5 seconds left we should have passed it to Nyla Harris breaking upcourt towards our basket instead of passing back under their basket.

As for Indya's FT's. I am sure the plan was not for her to be the player fouled. Reniya should have dribbled
out. Still would have been better to not be under their basket.

The big mistake at the end was not getting our players off the foul line and all players back on defense.

Bottom line: We were not prepared for the 2 misses.

As for the best FT shooters in late game situations my eyeball list pretty much agrees with your good stats
which is good for me lol. Maybe my eyes and basketball mind are still somewhat accurate.

This is the in game adjustments I keep talking about. That falls on CB and Staff. By now, they have enough stats to know who the best FT's shooters on the team are and those players should have been in the game in the closing seconds. CB should know better. She is not a new coach. She had coached for over 15 years now and she should know better. She needs to start owning it in the press conferences when she messes up and stop putting all of the blame on the players. Her adjustments at the end of that game and during the OT is unacceptable. As someone stated earlier, TH should have started during the OT. She had the hot hand. A person with a little bit of a brain would have left her at the start of the OT.
