5 minutes into the game and I think we have one rebound. I was hoping a respectable showing but it is not looking like it unless we start playing a whole lot better quickly.
What a dirty play by Notre Dame that should not only be kicked out of this game she should be kicked out for the season.
These refs absolutely suck they are calling fouls when there is not one. Then when someone gets tackled there is no call.
Notre Dame by 1 at half but this is turning into a **** show regarding the refs. How come the ND player who committed that brutal foul on Harris was not ejected from the game. It was called intentional and we got 2 shots and the ball but the player was not ejected.

Also, they call a foul on Curry for Hidalgo’s 3 pt attempt, awarding her 3 foul shots, but just a couple of plays later a Notre Dame player does the exact same thing to Curry on a 2 point shot, and they call it a clean block. Complete ********.
Hidalgo is such a good player, she does NOT need any extra help!
UND is #3 in the country - they are very good. The last 2-3 years UND wasn’t as good. UofL doesn’t suck. They are just not as good as they have been.
Glad I am not the only one seeing the piss poor calls. The crowd has gone nuts in here when they have shown the blown calls.

We are BLATANTLY treated as the red head step child.
We are letting them drive to far in getting layups and short jumpers. Somebody focus on Hildago we shut her down the first half go back to doing what worked then.
We have the same coach we had when we dominated ND and the ACC. One of the best coaches in the business. Our talent level has sunk to a new low. Why is that? NIL? Our demise pretty much started when we could not afford to keep Van Lith. Jeff is not being given enough money to compete. We are not only going to lose games, we are going to lose Jeff.
I agree just like volleyball we are not spending the same amount of money on volleyball and women’s basketball that we should be spending. Those sports are generating a lot of attention from schools across the country because of spectator interest. So much so that the past few years there has been a lot of focus from the SEC schools.
It looks like we lost focus and didn’t do what worked the 2nd quarter. ND pulling away not going to be close like I was hoping.
When you are not big strong underneath, very small guards, and no fast, you won't win. Very poor team construction.
ND is extremely talented, but the one-sided officiating is unfortunate.
Unlike the deliberate foul that resulted in Harris having to leave the game; her elbow to King’s face was not deliberate, rather a common reaction when rebounding around a crowd.
I hate to pick on any one player, but I honestly cannot see why Jeff plays Elif. Today she had 13 minutes on the floor, but failed to score while missing all 4 of her shots, and she failed to get a single rebound or record a single assist. In contrast, Isla who seldom plays, only got in for 3 minutes, but was able to contribute 3 points and gathered in 2 rebounds. Elif struggles mightily with her balance and lateral movement in the paint.
One observation: in that critical period of the 3rd quarter, and deep into the 4th quarter where a close game got out of control, ND went up by 20 points; it was evident that so many of our off balance drives inside the paint had little chance of scoring.
We shot an impressive 44% from 3, yet only 17 of 51 from 2 for 33%. Conversely ND shot 60% from 2, but only 30% from 3. At one point in a 1st half TO, the ND coach told her team to quit shooting 3s. Jeff should have gone to a zone and instructed our girls to avoid inside the paint and look for an open 3.

I've been saying this all season. She is just not a major conference level player. Neither are but that's what Walz recruited.
This season is just a miss by Coach Walz. Unfortunately, I believe we're going to have to wait until next season to see great basketball again.

Like CJW has said several times already and he said it again post game that if he can keep this class together and ad some more pieces he will have a great team. I have noticed the past few games that Russell and Cochran are playing fewer minutes. I don’t know why maybe they are getting beat out in practice or maybe he is trying get more minutes for the underclass players.
Definitely think he’s giving as many minutes as is reasonably possible to the younger players. For those players whom Walz wants to keep, recruiting them for next year is starting already, by showing them that they will have every opportunity to play and develop here next year.
I firmly believe CJW knows what kind of a team he has and their expectations. I see clearly why Elif plays the minutes she does even though she is not very productive. She does give effort. To me thats a clear signal to the seniors. So he's going to try to win the best way they can but without hopefully losing a lot of players for next year and build continuity. If he does lose players, he'll bring some in.
ND made some nice adjustments at half. They didn't let Roberts and Curry get any good looks from 3 and made Curry a driver, which isn't her strength. (she is shooting 28% on 2's in conference play)
I loved Randolph's play in the 2nd Q and hope she gets more playing time going forward, we need her athleticism on the court.
