I understand but they all have to stay. It seems like a big gamble to me. If Roberts leaves what was the point?

Point would have been a 22 win season and a round of 32 trip in the NCAAT.

And yes, losing Roberts would be very disappointing, but in this age of the portal, not insurmountable.

As far as the transfer portal goes. You hope some players would like to play for your school. Not like you can twist arms. Then, it comes down to recruiting. I truly think Jeff needs to evaluate his staff and make a change. I think he needs a former D-1 player on his staff. Someone who can get out and recruit and really relate to the younger players. I am not a fan of Robinson or Pineda. I think our talent has gradually lessened since their arrival. Just my opinion of course.

Fighting to come back and it's Instanbolu taking a bad three. Really?
Have to lay that on Coach Walz. He evidently gives the green light. I think he knew the season was a bust in January and has been going through the motions.

For this Louisville fan, I'm relieved that several of these players won't be back next season. I think this was the coach's worst team he has put together since he made the program a powerhouse.

What happened to Roberts she scored 2 points was there something we don’t know or was it just a bad game?

She didn’t make many during the year, but apparently she makes them in practice, because that’s at least the fourth time this year I’ve seen us run that play for her. And I did see her hit it once….

Istanulluoglu was 3-24 on 3's this year.

Coach can coach because very few could get 22 wins and 13-5 ACC record with this bunch.
This is second year of a not great roster and he needs to kill it in the portal and keep the right current players. We need a massive infusion of talent.

Encouraged by the incoming freshman, but disappointed that we didn't get Z from Sacred Heart.

Love these players and program, but I’m glad this season is over. It has been beyond frustrating to watch this season. How are yall feeling about our future?

I hope the 6’5” Grace Magubu is a legit big and not a project. We need to hit the transfer portal for a big you can’t play small ball in Division 1 and think you can be a contender. We lost two 5 star players from the Commonwealth in the recruiting cycle this year. We also lost 6’3” Leah Macy of Bardstown to Notre Dame and 6’1” Johnson at Scared Heart to LSU.

It's like it's not cool to play for Louisville anymore? Coach Walz is supposed to be a "players coach", but he's lost quite a few to transfer before the portal blitz started.

It's very discouraging that a program with Louisville's prestige, can't sign local stars out of high school.

It's probably NIL I know, but I'm afraid it may get worse before it gets better.

I’m not sure what kind of money the WBB program is getting for NIL. As has been mentioned the men have in the ballpark of 8-10 MIL for NIL, which is really good. Then FB require lots of NIL. Just how much is left for WBB? I suspect not much.

She's a legit player. Versatile and has great size. It looks like she gets better with every game. She's only been playing for a few years and suffered an acl injury in June of 2024. How she was able to come back from that injury and play and look as good as she did this season is otherworldly. Very excited about her.

If there is a need for more NIL money they need to say something so the fans can get on board. If that is the problem then Josh Heird needs to get on top of this because women’s basketball has gotten a lot more popular in a short period of time and it is going to get bigger.
The TCU coach did a great job getting a starting 5 not much after that because I only remember them substituting once or twice. They lose 90% of their scoring this year it will be interesting to see how he replaces that.

I just looked up TCU’s incoming class for next year and it is impressive. They have a 6’4” guard coming in and a 6’8” center and a 6’7” forward. Their coach gets the idea that you can’t play small ball and win big anymore.

They only had a bench of two. Seven total players.

Walz for whatever reason can’t seem to get an athletic big with any size. It’s been two years in a row of an early exit and if this continues next year he will have put a break on the momentum Cards WBB had. They did a flash NIL donation during a game, I get feeling theirs not a lot of NIL for the women, could be wrong, but would like to know.

Bigs matter, but boy they are hard to find. It is especially hard to find bigs that can shoot and operate below. The problem this year is neither Harris or Cochran could stretch out or operate effectively down low. It clogged the entire offense up.

When they are good they could shoot or create from every position. He used to have it, shooters at every position. I would find 4-6 players that are proven shooters to surrounded an average sized big that is an excellent defender you can funnel people. That big has to either be able to shoot or be really good at the pick and roll stuff.

Easier said than done but there is no substitute for good shooting. It opens up the entire game.

I wish we could talk Cara Cressee to play center she would be a hell of a rebounder and an awesome shot blocker.

Somebody is listening

Yes, not too terribly surprising. She averaged 4 fewer minutes per game this year and regressed in nearly every statistical category. She did improve her FT percentage. It seemed to me that her fitness level (cardio) wasnt quite where it needed to be.

At the P4 level, she can be a backup role player at PF for some team, but that appears to be her ceiling unless she can get leaner and really work on her jump shot and ball handling skills to play at the SF spot with some occasional post up opportunities.

I don’t really see her being able to do all of that….

Until Coach gets in front of the fans and request help in funding, women's basketball will be mediocre at best, and be left behind. Coaches need to embrace.

Out of this last year’s highly rated freshman class, I am afraid there were more misses (no pun intended) than hits, and unfortunately it follows a recent trend that we experienced with both Olivia Cochran and Nyla Harris …….. not quite living up to their respective 5 and 4 Star HS ranking.

Arenas is one who did not play much, but there were instances where she displayed some of the projected talent that brought her to UL. She is one that did not surprise when announcing her plans to transfer, and I am afraid that she may turn out to be the next Verhulst, in terms of being a major contributor elsewhere.

I really question the wisdom of leaning on a huge freshman class in an era where veteran players matter.

While Arenas showed flashes. She also:
Was out of control at times
Defensively was weak
Just made mistakes

I think she could have developed and been a good player. But, many think they should play a lot immediately. Her brother also decided to play for USC. My guess is she runs out there.

As far as recruiting. I’ve stated it multiple times. Our recruiting has gone down since adding Pineda and Robinson.
