Louisville basketball hasn't been lucky with 50/50 balls for years. We're one of the most unfortunate teams ever at corralling the loose ball. Doesn't matter if we're a good team or bad. It's the Twilight Zone when it comes to loose balls.
or as Ted Lasso says, the harder you work the luckier you get
I get so tired of this comment. What's happened before has no bearing on what's happening now. What "IS" happening now is, we have a coach, that can't coach.. Rick would have this team in the 2nd weekend of the tournament, hell even Mack probably would. No coach or player on this team has "gone through" anything at UofL except for the last 2 years and that's all been self-inflicted..but it's so much tougher with everything the program has gone through.
That's the way you want to see it because it simplifies your problem....What's happened before has no bearing on what's happening now. What "IS" happening now is, we have a coach, that can't coach.. You're talking about finances, I'm talking about on the court. Those finance problems have ZERO to do with on court issues except that Payne sucks which is killing attendance..That's the way you want to see it because it simplifies your problem.
THAT problem didn't start in March of last year when Payne was hired. Attendance was 13,242 per game in 2021-22, which is 60% of capacity. The FY2022 men's basketball was $6.9 million, down 27% from its all-time high four years earlier. Our won-lost record the year before Payne arrived was 13-19.
Compared to the past, this program was a dumpster fire when Payne walked in the door. It's convenient that you want to blame him 100% for the problem and not the people you supported in charge of athletics. That's not reality, it just helps you sleep at night...
Money has everything to do with performance. Only people in denial don’t see the connection. You're talking about finances, I'm talking about on the court. Those finance problems have ZERO to do with on court issues except that Payne sucks which is killing attendance..
This radio station keeps playing the same old song. Horrible lyrics and you can’t dance to it. People are tired of hearing it.Money has everything to do with performance. Only people in denial don’t see the connection.
And you conveniently looked past the attendance and won-lost (mostly lost) record I cited pre Kenny Payne.
The people you hold on high brought you this mess. Admit it…
Broken record and one trick Pony come to mind..This radio station keeps playing the same old song. Horrible lyrics and you can’t dance to it. People are tired of hearing it.
I'm talking about the CURRENT regime that you're defending. That response is a total fail. That would be like saying Kenny Payne would be winning games right now if we had more money in the bank.
As usual every point you "try" to make leads right back to the same place. You have to live everyday of your life knowing that the former regime is never going to be in charge anymore while I really don't care. Right now Heird is doing a good job and how he handles the Kenny Payne situation will determine if I keep feeling that way..
Don't veer off topic (that you brought up). You're saying if we had more money we would be winning more. That's a total fail comment and you can't defend it..I'm talking about the CURRENT regime that you're defending.
Heird's done nothing to help basketball. He's a holdover from people who took an axe to the men's program, and he's doing nothing to change that. He's an empty suit supervising the demise of a once proud program. It's a tragedy...
