that someone asked about earlier this week. This was the last touchdown. The ball was fumbled and went out of the back of the endzone. If it's called correctly, there is no overtime and we win. Thanks to dawgstudent for the pic.

I'll tell another reason why I hate LSU fans besides the obvious- they get **** like that and have beaten 86 out of 87 times and still ***** about Rod Gibson.

Our questionable TD was in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. Their TD was to tie it up 7-7 in the 1st.

that is a blatant fumble...there is NO angle like that for gibson. Every angle is off to the side and anyone that is objective will admit there is no possible way to prove if he was in or not...

at least we KNOW he ended up in the endzone with the football- at some point. Plus, they screwed us over on the play before Gibson scored where they "stopped" him on the one yard line.

so, regardless of this play, we damn sure let it get away.

Just like the South Carolina game (last play throw it up by a walkon QB who had never played)
Just like the Arkansas game (leading 10-0 starting the 4th, botch game winning chip shot with seconds left)

In other words, we were about three plays from being 10-0 going to Oxford. Seriously.

True, but we were doomed from the start against Ole Miss. Pig and a few others were out from that horrible Arkansas game, and Wayne was so sick that he only played a few drives.

If you turn off the volume from ESPN2 (i.e. Todd 'Jheri curl' Christensen's "HE DID NOT GO!"), the call was not that unusual. Jheri apparently had a better view than anyone including the refs and/or cameras. He was adamant that Gibson didn't score regardless of the inconclusive replays.

before deleting it. But I thought it was the game clinching TD for LSU. That pic brought back a lot of hate.

or maybe the first two series. Trying to remember who all we had out on D. Seems like Pig, Mario, Ellis, & maybe 2-3 more on D. Rebs hit the sideline route all the way down the field several times (& then a quick hitter over the middle for the TD). My hometown boy (K Roberson) really sucked that game (of course he sucked in several games). Too bad he never learned how to run routes (he was one hell of a WR in high school).

Anyone got a starting lineup for 2000 (beginning of season)? Be interesting to know who all was out for the UM game (seems like 7 starters but can't remember).

Kendall Roberson was never the same after the knee injury. He was a badass corner for the 98 team.

I remember the first TD for LSU that game. I was sitting in the opposite endzone but it was pretty easy to see the RB chasing the ball from the 3 yard line into the endzone. Clinton then picked it up and put a knee down. That was the worst call since Pig's punt return on Bama getting called back.

The main thing I remember about that game was rain, then sleet, than snow, back to rain, the sleet, etc., etc.

I remember being so happy that the game was fixing to be over because even as drunk as I was, it was still freaking cold.
Then came the nice line drive chip shot right into the pile.

Kendall Roberson was the **** and would've played in the NFL if not for that knee injury. He wasn't quite as good as Smoot but he was better than Robert Bean if you ask me (and Bean was really good).
As for that game in Oxford, we were down to Greg Jack on the defensive line depth chart. Wayne was balling before he left that game. I still think we would've beaten them if he hadn't been sick.

We had them stopped until he broke that punt return. Terrible *** cold rain that day too. And he was playing on busted up ankles too, so I don't want to hear about injuries, sickness, etc. 2000 was an effed up year. We were capable of beating everydamn body we lost to.

Everybody does have injuries but everybody isn't down to 4th string on the DL in addition to having the best overall defender out (Pig).. then the QB goes out. I don't care who you are. If that many of your best players are out of the game, you don't beat good SEC teams. That just wasn't our day.
Now the Arkansas game is a different story. I sat through that whole thing in all that weather and I still don't believe it happened. Considering all circumstances, we lost one game we shoulda won and we lost the game we shoulda lost. Fant wasn't ready and too many important players sitting instead of playing.

Man I hated Morgan. He would just piggy back ride on receivers all the way for a first down or 6. Miserable.

I didn't remember this at all, but we were up 31-17 to start the 4th and LSU cut it to 31--24 at about the 13 minute mark. Then they put up 2 more TDs. We then had to score late in the 4th to send it to overtime.

They must have rolled the pocket and hit that 10 yard out 25 times that game. That was the beginning of the end for the JLD.

because I remember thinking we had it won and going to do something else. I tend to forget bits and pieces though. Got the stats anywhere?

I was at that game.

One of the top 5 performances I've ever seen out of a MSU football team.
