One of the more highly regarded assistants of the last few cycles, with him getting so much credit for Uconn's offensive innovation under Hurley. I'm sure he asked all the right questions and was given all the right answers, because it isn't like he was devoid of options whether this year or next. Fascinated to see how this plays out.

Sister went to BC. It’s a hockey school and maybe football back in the flutie days.

I always wanted to see them do good in basketball but they have constantly been god awful lol.

I’m curious if he can turn tha program around and possibly turn them more into basketball like how Nebraska is right now.

They did have a decent team in 2006.
I believe that had former nba vet Jared Dudley and I think Dana barros played for them back in the day and had success.

Jim O'Brien had it going with Boston recruiting, but I guess he pushed the admin too far, with Herren et al, then they wont admit a kid who qualfied per ncaa rules. So OB goes to OSU, does great then I guess the cheating caught up with him and the ncaa wins wiped off the books.

BC always had some talent on their rosters throughout their time in the Big East

even all the way back to the early days of the conference.
  • John Bagley (NBA)
    • 1629 points in only 3 years
    • BE All 1st team (2)
    • BE POY 198
  • Michael Adams (NBA)
    • 3 times All - 2nd team
    • 1650 points scored
  • Jay Murphy (NBA)
    • 2 time All BE
    • 1795 points scored
  • Danna Barros (NBA)
    • BE all time leader 3 pt FGM when he graduated. Still 19th all time
    • 2342 points (8th all time BE)
    • All BE - 3 times
  • Then they had some down years but the Bill Curley, Howard Eisley, Malcolm Huckaby team goes 1-15 as frosh and ultimately makes a magical elite 8 run as seniors knocking off #1 in the country UNC in the round of 32
I miss these days. You got to know who all the players were over time. You associated those 3 guys with BC and could appreciate the run they made and what they had endured over 4 years to build the program back up.

Had a number of good years during the Al Skinner era as well (when I think Cooley was an assistant), producing players like Troy Bell and Jared Dudley.

Going back even farther at BC. John Austin---great rivalry with PC and Jimmy Walker; Cousy coaching against then-Lew Alcindor in a big Friday-Sat. double header in the last days (literally) of the old Garden in Jan. '68; Willie Wolters on the mid 60's team father of UCONN "legend" Kara from Geno's first championship season.

Have always thought Luke is a twerp. Kind-of a Hurley wanna-be. Really thought if/when he left UCONN it would be to a Fairfield. Kimani is the better coach.

Still the only coach I ever saw ejected at a SHU game, way back in the 90s at the Byrne.
