Northern Illinois lost to #1 Ohio State by 7 points in a game that was tied at halftime, shredded Murray State, 57-26, beat UNLV, 38-30.
Bowling Green trounced Big 10 Maryland, 48-27, but lost to fellow conference member Memphis, 44-41.
Western Michigan lost to Big 10 Michigan State -- #2 & #3 nationally -- by 13, 37-24.
Ohio University beat C-USA’s Marshall, 21-10, clobbered Southeastern Louisiana, 35-14, and Idaho, 48-25.
Kent State lost to Big 10 Minnesota by 3 points.
Central Michigan lost to ACC Syracuse by 3 points in overtime, to Big 12 Oklahoma State by 11, 24-13, skewered Monmouth, 31-10.
Buffalo beat Florida Atlantic, 33-15, after losing to Big 10 Penn State, 27-14.
Akron, where 1-victory seasons were the norm before Terry Bowden became its coach, ripped Savannah State, 52-9.
